I’m a set-omega and I’ve been sold by my wolf pack to the dragons as a breeder.
My name is Caylen. I’m a wolf shifter whose inner beast is missing. This means I cannot shift. As a set-omega, my pack can’t scent me and I’m officially a non-member. Worse, I have lost all rights and can be sold to the highest bidder.
Dragons are wealthy but omega-poor. To keep their population stable, they have become the biggest set-omega importers and pay the most for breeders.
My fate is in the hands of strangers. I’m afraid but refuse to show it.
On the auction block, someone bids for me with pure gold amid gasps and wonder. What does that even mean? What will happen to me?

Note: This is book three of the Alpha Dragon series but is a standalone read.
REVIEW:
I am a huge fan of the Queen of Omegas, Wendy Rathbone, and her beautiful and spunky Omegas. And this Alpha Dragon series has been especially near and dear to my heart. I love that she creates a world where an Alpha can shine through the darkness and unfairness that excessive money and greed can, and typically does, breed. This particular book in this series showcases that greed and how fortune can corrupt anyone…especially those that are suppose to love and protect you most. 😢
Caylen has met the worst fate of all for a wolf shifter. Test have proved conclusively that he is a set-omega. He will never be able to shift and has no inner-beast. His fate is now sealed. He is unwanted by his pack. The only thing he is worth to them is selling him to the mighty and über rich dragons that have struggled to produce omegas for the last 4 dozen generations. He hears his Papa and Dado crying in the next room. But he knows his time with a pack he is a non-member of is over and his only value to them is selling him off. So he takes his fate in his own hands and requests to be sent off immediately tonight. But the Set-Omega auction is awful and alphas violate and disrespect him while inspecting him. Then he hears a voice that assures him he will be taken someplace safe. Valcor would do anything for his older brother Varik. Varik was stole from him right after he presented his golden adult dragon scales. A golden dragon is extremely rare and their scales are of the purest and most precious gold. His parents literally caged him and sold him to evil men who harvested his scales in the most barbaric and greedy way possible. It took 20 years for Val to find his older brother and and it is his duty to keep him safe. But Varik is a total recuse and Val resorts to the one thing he can think of to provide a safe companion for Varik…the evil Set-Omega auction. There he finds and purchases Caylen for his brother and brings him home to him as a present.
Both Caylen and Varik truly have so much in common. Although what happened to Varik was unthinkable for a parent to do to the child, they both were literally sold off as slaves to provide wealth. And Varik had every right to be mad at Val. Although Val did rescue Caylen from what could have been a horrible life of being reduced to a breeder, possibly at a breeder farm, he lined the pockets of the most greedy in their land. But I do think that Val was coming at this with the best of intentions. He rescued Caylen from those disgusting Alphas and provided him with a safe place to live. And for Varik, he provided a companion for his solitary brother.
Caylen was the perfect companion for Varik. He was beautiful but could be a bit feisty. And he grew to care for the stunning Alpha. I loved watching their friendship bloom and the mutual caring that evolved. That care exploded when he finally met Varikan, Varik’s golden dragon. How distraught he was at learning the horrifying truth on how Varik got the material for his sculpture’s was true concern. Pleading with both the man and his dragon showed that he cared about who they were and not how much they were worth. And then, when Caylen went into his heat, Varik finally grasp what an true Alpha’s duties and responsibilities for his Omega meant. His concern and care shined as he cared for poor Caylen. Love was inevitable from then on. And the conclusion was literally the icing on the cake!
I love this series and keep thinking that this can’t be as good as the last but I shouldn’t be surprised because Wendy just keeps outdoing the last…as hard as that is to believe! Can’t wait for more!!!
