Monsters don’t let go of the ones they love.
They’ll hunt you. They’ll abduct you. They’ll chain you to them.
It starts as an internship.
Becomes a summer fling.
Then it twists,
from the happiest moment of my life
into something dark.
Maxim Morozov is not just powerful.
Not just rich. Not just ruthless.
He’s Bratva.
By the time his lies unravel, it’s too late.
He’s already marked me as his.
Now I’m locked in his tower,
trapped behind security gates, watched by bodyguards,
loved too fiercely by a man who would destroy everything to keep me.
We have to face betrayal, bloodshed, and heartbreak.
But if I’ve learned anything, it’s this,
You don’t walk away from the devil.
Not when he’s decided you’re his.
Bratva’s Vow is book 2 in the Bratva’s Undoing series and concludes Maxim’s and Wren’s story. This book is not a stand-alone and must be read after Bratva’s Intern.
REVIEW:
This story picks up where the previous book left off. Maxim and Wren are still going strong and although Wren has a better idea of Maxim’s world following the incident at the end of the last installment, he really doesn’t understand the extent of things. He is still a bit naive, but Maxim is a pretty powerful presence and does a pretty good job of shielding Wren from his Bratva activities. But Maxim’s world is closing in and keeping Wren safe and in the dark is becoming increasingly more difficult.
The guys go through a good bit of turmoil in this installment. There are quite a few highs and definitely some lows. There are a lot of moving parts to Maxim’s existence, and Wren puts a wrench in things more often than not, although not ever intentionally on his part. I love how the close people involved are all becoming more emotionally invested in Wren as he proves himself and his devotion to Maxim, even when the truth comes out and he wreaks some havoc.
Maxim is very over the top where Wren is concerned. He is possessive and domineering in his attempts to keep Wren safe and by his side. But, he has lived a very intense life and Wren has wormed his way into Maxim’s heart and life and Maxim has no intention of letting him go. Their relationship is very intense as well, but they both just fit each other. And Maxim tries to show his love in various ways which is rather funny since Wren really doesn’t want the money and expensive gifts. They both manage to find ways to procure extremely meaningful gifts for each other and while they might not match peoples’ conventional idea of a couple, there is very little doubt of their love for each other.
This installment also has some twists and turns with betrayal and mystery. It doesn’t take long for the excitement and mystery to pick up and then I was racing through the pages. I love the other characters. I love Jess’ relationship with Darius and Nik and their respective roles in Maxim’s and Wren’s life. Sergei is another interesting guy and with the roles being shifted out of necessity, I’m not sure how I feel about him not being next to Maxim all the time. However, I am definitely looking forward to seeing if he is the center of the next book. Either way, I’m excited to see more of this world.
