It was just a fling.

A bit of fun on the weekends. Definitely not permanent.

Not that I wouldn’t love to crack the ice around rich and sexy Declan Foster’s heart.

And he was the last person I expected to ride to my rescue when I found myself suddenly homeless and a father.

Now he’s spoiling my daughter and me at every turn, offering the perfect life on a silver platter.

Should I risk my heart on a man who once said he never wanted kids?

The Complication is the second full-length novel in the Executive Suite Secrets series, which includes a billionaire, a suddenly homeless single dad, snark, teasing, stolen kisses, “helpful” friends, a little princess who’s going to steal your heart, and a sweet, forever kind of love.

REVIEW:

Book two of a brand new series from Ms. Jocelynn Drake. It is about a group of rich friends and what goes on around their lives as they navigate being rich and those men they are interested in while being restricted by what is right and what is wrong, both in the corporate world and the outside world.

Book one introduced us to Sebastian, CEO of a big company, and Byron, his ever-efficient Executive Assistant. In book two, we are delving into the lives of Parker and Declan, one of Sebastian’s best friend and executives in the company. Parker and Declan have an arrangement of “sex only.” But everything came to a head when Parker got accepted as a Temp in Courtland Industries, he didn’t know that this is the same company that Declan is connected with and he is working in the finance department which is under the purview of Declan Foster.

When Parker’s best friend died, his life drastically changed with the fact that he is now a father, His best friend left him their daughter. They were best friends since they were very young so when Molly wanted to have a baby but doesn’t want to go through getting married, it was but natural for them to agree that Parker would donate the sperm, but Molly never wanted Parker to be burdened being a father, she was going to raise Joy on her own. Although his parents wanted him to go back home so they could help him with Joy, Parker wanted to stay where he is and give it a go by himself first. But when a fire broke out and consumed his apartment with all of their stuff in it, he really, badly, wanted to call it quits but then Declan called him the moment while he was still at a loss as to what to do with his and Joy’s life.

Declan brought Parker and Joy to his home, made them comfortable and told Parker that there is no rush in leaving, they can stay as long as they need to while working on Parker’s insurance for the apartment. Everything is so much easier while living with Declan, he can focus on his paintings when he is not following up on his apartment’s papers, but when his parents came to visit, his mother made him feel like he was making Declan control his life, that it was as if he lost his independence, taking the easy way out. He decided to try it out on his own then, moved out and live in a cramp apartment, taking care of Joy on his own, while looking for a job. He became miserable, and so did Declan.

When he realized the mistake he made, he asked Declan for a date again, and they talked, actually they talked through their friends and then they talked. Everything became clear that they do love each other very much, and it has nothing to do with the circumstances that happened within that time. It was way overdue for Parker to ask Declan out, he had wanted to even before Joy, but he was afraid because Declan wanted to keep it “sex only.”

This second book is so sweet that I can’t get enough of it, read it a few times more. These billionaires are sweet beyond belief and who wouldn’t fall in love with them with the kind of personalities that they have. If you are into stories that will make you swoon then you just have to start reading this new series from Ms. Jocelynn Drake.

Congratulations!
