REVIEW:
I was so excited when I learned that we were also getting Adrian’s younger and sweet “little” brother at the end of “The Puck Daddy”! Felix and Adrian were a package deal and we needed to know he got away from his awful ex and got his own true Daddy to spoil and protect him like he deserved.
Felix has followed his older brother Adrian, and Adrian’s Daddy/Boyfriend Theo, to Olivia Cove when Adrian got signed to play for their NHL Professional Hockey team the “Olivia Cove Wyverns” where Theo also was employed after his NHL career ending injury. Theo and Adrian purchased their gorgeous forever home, with the spacious pool house, with the thought that Felix would always have the ability/option to remIn near them and be cared for. Adrian may need his own Daddy with Theo but he will always be there for Felix since the day he got custody of his younger brother after their Mother’s sudden death. Their father’s death had been a few years earlier and Adrian had vowed to always take care of Felix. When Felix made plans to go to the Little’s Night at Dark Satin, a BDSM club in Olivia Cove that had a night dedicated to Littles, with his new friends and their Daddies he met on an online chat group, he’s excited. But he can’t find his trusted stuffie Krooger and he starts to panic and his tears start to fall. But Adrian realizes what’s up and saves the day. At the club Felix has a great time with his new friends and feels so safe that the day of moving in and then attending the club function takes its toll and he curls up and takes a nap. When a Daddy at the club comes and covers him up and tells him a story as he slumbers, he has no idea that his crush from High School is the “Daddy Clay” his Little friends were gushing about. But dreams really can and do come true in Olivia Cove!
This was an extra special sweet treat on a summer day. You can’t help but fall for Felix and his Daddy Clay. Both men had endured the horrible high school years, being afraid of the wrath of their high school bullies, Donny and Madison. Clay hid his disgust of the two for fear he would be the next on their radar of cruelty. And the younger and smarter Felix just put up with Donny’s torments to “Lex Luther”! For Felix to discover that Clay secretly blamed himself for not standing up to Donny but never blamed him was so sweet. Him stating that he always knew how Clay hated how Donny and Madison were because his expressions always were as easy to read as an open book was eye opening for Clay. But his forgiveness was the cherry on of the top of an ice cream sundae. Clay had suffered for years because of what he viewed as being a coward and needed Felix’s forgiveness even if Felix never felt like Clay had. Felix knew why Clay had acted that was and understood better than most what Clay standing up to the bullies would have cost him.
I loved how doting and patient Clay was. It shown through with how he was with his talking about his mother and Gran, that he took over her ice cream shop so she could retire. Felix said that his “ Mom always told me I can learn a lot from a guy by the way he talks about his family.” And Clay proved that to be true. I loved their sweet dates that ended with Cotton Candy Kisses and lots of cuddles. These two just made my evening.
As with all of Kota Quinn’s contemporary romance, this book exists in the Olivia Cove Universe and you get to see cameos of some of your favorite characters like all the Littles and their Daddies that frequent Dark Satin!
I do recommend that you read The Puck Daddy first where we got Adrian and his Daddy Theo’s wonderful story and first got introduced to Felix.
