BLURB:

They erased their memories, rewrote their names, and made them beasts. Now, the hunt for vengeance begins.

Chief Aiken Oakley and Chief Styles Sawyer—two of the US Navy’s most elite Special Warfare Combatant-craft officers—vanished after their mission was ambushed in South America and later presumed MIA.

Captured by the Raven’s organization, a covert assassin program, Oakley and Sawyer are stripped of their past, their memories, and even their names.
They are subjected to inhumane experimentation and injected with predator DNA that transform them into primal, lethal weapons… and are now known only as Valor and Zorion.

After breaking free from the program’s control, Valor and Zorion train themselves to master the beasts within them—pushing their minds, bodies, and instincts to the edge.

But to take down the corrupt organization, they’ll need more than strength, fury and an appetite for revenge. They’ll have to form uneasy alliances with the two other deadly Raven units—the strategic, silent Browns, and the ruthless, unpredictable Blacks.

Together, these assassins must unite against the program that created them… and destroy it before it creates something worse.

Black, Brown, and Green Ravens… The organization turned them into weapons, and now they’ve come back for war.

REVIEW:

This a new series from Ms. A.E. Via which started with Black and Brown. Black and Brown featured Ex and Meredian (their own story is part of the Nothing Special series) with Grace and Mirage. They all belong to an organization which transformed them into formidable Assassins, but unbeknownst to them, they are being used to carry out kills that are not as straightforward as it seems. Their targets are not supposed to be the ones they kill. The lines have become blurry along the way, something didn’t feel right about what they are doing (well aside from the glaring fact that they are killing people, that is). They are beginning to question what and who they are killing. This second book is about the Green Ravens and how they became who they are.

Chief Aiken Oakley and Chief Styles Sawyer are two of the most elite and formidable Naval officers and they have led their teams to several operations successfully. They never thought that there would come a day where their teams will get attacked and they would be presumed MIA by their superiors as well as seeing their teams being bombarded with explosives and scattered all over a river in South America. But that day did come and these two brave men had to survive the jungle for a few days bef0re they found what they thought was salvation. It turned out to be a group of scientists who were experimenting on humans being infused with animal DNA. These two heroes were stripped of their memories, identities and humanity. They were experimented on and became a mix qualities of the animals they were injected on, with no memories of who they were in the past.

This is my favorite of all the Ravens so far because it showed who Valor and Zorion were before they became the Green Ravens. It showed them being human. It showed them being vulnerable and just being themselves, caring, thoughtful and so attracted to each other. It hurt me when they were experimented on, when they started losing their humanity, but I think because they found each other during the process of all these, that their humanity somehow survived the onslaught of all the experiments. Although they could not remember their past, being with each other somehow made their current situation tolerable as long as they are together in it.

Finding out the real situation through the help of someone who belongs to a higher organization helped them see the reality of what they are being groomed for. Helped them focus on what their focus should be on. It somehow helped them become who they are supposed to be, not the Green Ravens as they were meant to be, but as Valor and Zorion who will save all the other Ravens from the organization who were meant to control them and use them to kill. Meeting the Blacks and the Browns have become an eye-opening reality to all six of them, it made them realized that in order to stop this organization from continuing, they have to stop it.

Amazing read Ms. Adrienne, I love it so much and I cannot wait for the story of the next Ravens.
