BLURB:
Stupid workplace lunch thief. Stupid upper management for not helping. Stupid me for not getting more than my gorgeous rescuer’s first name when I had the chance. How will I find him now?
Blue
There’s a lunch thief on the loose in my office, except he only seems to be stealing my lunch. Oh, I know who it is… But for “reasons,” management refuses to do anything about it.
When things escalate one Friday night, an attractive stranger comes to my rescue.
A cute, teddy bear of a stranger that is making me want to cuddle and call him my own.
I only have a first name to go on, but surely I’ll be able to track him down with enough determination.
Henry
His unique design sense, bright colors, sparkly jewelry, and colorful hairstyles grabbed my attention from the moment I first saw him a year ago. He’s held it ever since.
When I interrupted a nasty confrontation in the men’s restroom on a Friday evening, I finally learned his name and discovered that he’s even more beautiful up close than from a distance.
Waiting one weekend to see him again feels like forever, but I’ve waited this long, and I already know that he’ll be worth it.
Now if I can just manage to help him vanquish his bully, maybe he’ll notice me in return.

REVIEW:
Blue works at a company where a certain coworkers has taken to bullying him by stealing his lunches and making awful remarks about him and his appearance. He’s not someone who can dim his shine. He has colors in his hair, wears jewelry and dresses to please himself, not others. He wears makeup and he’s not about to apologize. Despite going to his manager they don’t have “evidence” that it’s Travis. It’s he said/he said.
Travis is related to someone high up at the company. He thinks he’s untouchable. One night when he’s drunk he assaults Blue in the bathroom at the company. Henry witnesses his, but without his phone again no evidence. But he’s drawn to Blue and he helps him after.
Blue can’t stop thinking about Henry and the next week they meet for real at work. Henry is interested in Blue. And he’s interested in helping Blue too. He and his cat lead a fairly tame life, but he’d like to see Blue in his life 😉
When they get together, things go well. But Blue is hiding some things about his past. Henry eventually finds out but it doesn’t matter at all to him. Blue is the person he wants to know. He also might be able to help on the Travis front 😉
I thoroughly enjoyed this story! Blue has been through a lot and dealing with workplace bullying and being kicked out by his family when he came out. His bestie Amy has been there for him for years. He knows he’s flamboyant and not everyone’s cup of tea, but he is determined to be himself. Dealing with Travis’s bullying is sadly something he’s all too familiar with. He’s been unlucky in love too. Bad dates doesn’t even begin to cover it. Henry is a sweetie. He’s not great in crowds but he’s sincere and honest and honest and he’s noticed Blue before 🙂 When he has the opportunity to help Blue, he’s determined to do so. He feels terribly that Blue is just resigned to being bullied and abused 🙁 His engineering skills end up being quite helpful too 😉 He’s so sensitive and supportive and he only wants to make things better and comfortable for Blue. When Blue confesses his fears to Henry, well I just wanted to give him the biggest hug. He didn’t deserve to be treated badly by so many people.
Workplace bullying of this nature is thankfully not as rampant as it used to be. Luckily things have changed – although I worry we are currently headed down the wrong path. And in a business headed by a family, even it if it a public company, things CAN get sticky with nepotism. I’ve been working in HR or related roles for 41+ years now and I can confirm I’ve seen all of this. And worse. Thankfully things are a lot better in 2025 than they were in 1985, but we still have a ways to go. I loved how things worked out for Blue and Henry. And their friends and family 😀 Just a lovely read with a sweet HEA. Also sometimes it’s nice to watch karma in action 😀 Recommended!
