BLURB:
Fae dragon shifter Cullen is still adjusting to becoming a guardian of the space between the human world and all the other dimensions he’s tied to. He and his two brothers are dealing with dragons and babies and more, and he doesn’t think he can handle much beyond that.
Which is when the unicorn shows up.
When a friend tells him that a house up in the mountains in Colorado is having some weird goings on, unicorn shifter Orion heads up to make sure no one is in any kind of distress. But once he’s in the dragon guardian’s house, he finds out he can’t leave unless one of the fae dragon brothers goes with him. Which would be fine if he and Cullen weren’t fated mates and there wasn’t a pesky vampire problem out in the human world.
Cullen and Orion have all the problems of any couple: families, mate bonds, and tons of insecurities. Will fighting off vampires be too much to handle on top of all of that?
This is an mpreg romance with gargoyle babies, hilarious beaver shifters, and a lot of magical family wildness.
REVIEW:
One of the things that I love about this Dragon Veil Universe is that when Minerva Howe introduces a family of brothers, like these guardian triplets, we get each of the brothers stories. This can be true of blood brothers or found family brotherhood.
Cullen is the fun uncle “Cuncle” for his brother Cosmo’s baby Elliot that resembles a wee gargoyle at times because his other father, Hawk, is a fierce dragon that spews lava when angry. Cullen uses his magic to create fun illusions to occupy his nephew so his poor daddy can rest. This second pregnancy has really taken a toll on Cosmo. While out grilling burgers in the front yard with Corbin the baby spots a unicorn and the brothers rush inside to protect their family. Orion is checking out the property where the older A Frame stood for his buddy Yarrow, a beaver shifter that exercises his dam-buildings rights on his ancestral land, that borders the now morphed structure. When Orion spots the beautiful purple man he knows what he wants and the connection is pretty instant. But can a unicorn shifter and a fae/dragon shifter be true mates?
I love that Cullen is the fun brother. He is literally magical and can entertain the wee Elliot for hours which he loves to do. Except for having to protect their family with his illusions, he has hours to keep his toddler nephew occupied. But the enchanting and mythical Unicorn shifter captured not only his attention but his heart.
The vile vampires are back at it again and stealing a newborn Pegasus from it parents (and most probably killing them in the process) was disgusting. The fact that they like to play with their food and extend the torture involved was despicable. They are literally the scourge of the earth and all its realms. No one is safe from those blood suckers and that is why the triplets, and now their powerful mates, are so important and needed.
I am excited for the next brother’s story. Corbin seems to be deeply attached to the vampire-infected fae that he helped rescue too. I’m sure that this will be a fun and adventurous story also. I am truly loving this series and universe. 💕
