Jules
I came to Eden, Wyoming, expecting boredom and maybe a few glares—what I got was a beatdown in a filthy alley for daring to wear nail polish and a designer wrap. Welcome to small-town America. Luckily, before things got too bloody, a cowboy straight out of my daydreams stepped in and sent the bigots packing. I would’ve been more grateful if he hadn’t mistaken me for some helpless damsel.
Spoiler alert: I’m not.
Too bad he figured that out only after kissing me like he meant it.

Flynn
Eden was supposed to be another stop on my solitary, horse-bound journey—just work, then ride on. But when I found someone getting jumped in an alley, I didn’t hesitate. The clothes said woman. The kiss said fire. The truth? Complicated.
He left before I could ask anything more than his name.
But fate had other plans.
Now he’s working at the same ranch, just as stubborn, sarcastic, and out of place as ever. And just as impossible to ignore.
We come from different worlds, and we both know this thing between us can’t last.
So why does letting him go feel like the worst kind of mistake?

REVIEW:

The newest addition to the Love in Eden series by Ms. Sloane Kennedy, this comes after Always Mine. Always Mine was the story of Brooks and Xavier, who were childhood friends but because of what Brooks’ father did (several of his actions resulted to unexpected and hurtful events), they got separated with so many heartaches and a lot of misinformation on the part of Brooks.

His Cowboy Heart will tell us about Jules, Brooks’ assistant and closest friend at his work, and the Cowboy who helped him when he got himself in a situation he couldn’t handle in the town of Eden. Jules came to Eden from New York to help Brooks at a time when Brooks needed a friend, this was during the times Brooks couldn’t understand what was happening to him and Xavier. And Jules just stayed.

When Jules got beaten up by three guys in the town of Eden, a Cowboy came to his rescue. This Cowboy turned out to be the new hire of the ranch owned by Brooks’ Uncle,  and when Flynn, the Cowboy, met Jules again, they both didn’t know what to make of it. When Flynn rescued Jules, at the heat of the moment, they kissed and that’s when Flynn found out that Jules was a man not a woman as he first thought. And before he could say anything to Jules, Jules ran away. The next time they met was at the ranch already.

Their attraction to each other was palpable, even Brooks and Xavier could feel it when they were all together. When they got over the awkwardness of that first meeting, they started to talk and became friends but each time something intimate starts happening, Flynn would push Jules away, literally and figuratively. After it happened a few times, Jules has had it. He starts avoiding Flynn. The next time they had a time to themselves, Flynn finally told Jules the reason and from there, Jules tries to find a way to eliminate the panic that Flynn feels whenever things got hot and heavy with them. When they did find their footing, they started to spend as much time with each other as possible.

Both Flynn and Jules are hiding their real selves at first but eventually they told each other who they really are and why they are there in Eden, what brought them there. I didn’t expect that from both of them. It was a big twist to their story. When some personal emergency got relayed to Jules, he left Eden immediately without telling Flynn so Flynn assumed that it was because of what was happening to them.

These two are meant to be together, after so many false starts, they finally are in the same page but then something happened that made Flynn doubt that what they had was the real thing because Jules ran away.

Lovely and heart-wrenching story Ms. Sloane Kennedy, Congratulations! And thank you for continuing this series and The Protectors. I love your stories, well-written and so engaging to the readers. I am looking forward to the next book.
