Synopsis
Catkind — they’re rough, they’re tough and they don’t take no for an answer. But who’d want to say no? Not Gabriella, a barmaid in a tiny roadhouse named Gatos near the Mexican border. Nor her sister Marnie. With his sisters carried off by the Catkind, Tony’s left to run Gatos, but he won’t be alone — a couple of misfit “alley cats” have joined forces with Tony.
Lucia’s a party girl with two hot, hunky Catkind on her trail. Orion, a white Tiger, and Jomei, a Bengal, are royalty among the Catkind. They’re about to learn Lucia’s much more than a pretty face. When the four Gatos siblings return with their Catkind mates for a final showdown against their nemesis, Anuetta thinks she’s got these tigers by their tails, but she doesn’t count on the mighty strength of the Gatos family. The line’s been drawn in the ashes, and the claws are out!
This collection contains the previously released novellas in the Cat O’Nines collection: Cat’s Claws, Cat’s Eye, Cat’s Cradle, Cat’s Meow, and Cat’s Paw.

Lucia checked the odometer on the car she’d “borrowed” from her ex-boyfriend Alejandro and saw she’d traveled over a hundred miles since she’d made the decision to run. The needle on the gas gauge was getting low, and her legs ached from the jouncing the broken seat gave her every time she hit a pothole. The backs of her eyes throbbed from too long spent staring at the hard packed clay road. It wasn’t much of a road, but it was the only way out of the village heading east.
Maybe it’d been the long drive by herself, the radio stations and their bright, distracting salsa music few and far between, fuzzy and crackling with static, but Lucia had done a lot more thinking than she’d been used to since she turned into a pretty young woman, and she wasn’t sure she liked where her thoughts were heading.
Lucia didn’t do introspection. That wasn’t her place among the Gatos family.
Gabriella, the oldest of the sisters, was the smart one and the leader, the sister who took charge and did what had to be done, unpleasant or not. Marnie, the baby, was the shy, sweet sister. Marnie needed to be looked out for and taken care of, and in exchange she’d sing the sweetest songs any of them had ever heard. Tony, the only man of their family, was the quiet one, and happiest in the background, working hard. Lucia had always thought he seemed content with his life, playing the part of the wind beneath the wings of his vibrant, intriguing sisters.
And then there was Lucia, stuck in the middle. So what had she become to stand out from the crowd of her family?
Lucia lived to party. She laughed the loudest, drank the most sweet fruit juice and tequila mixes, lived the life of a wild, carefree woman, and dressed as finely as a peacock to demand the most attention. She’d spent years working to carry off the impression of herself as a brightly-colored bird without a care in the world. Lucia, good-time girl. No regrets, no sorrow, nothing but sultry seduction and sex.
The trouble, Lucia knew, was that along the way she had forgotten who she was underneath all the pretty wrapping. As she got older, Lucia found herself wanting… more. She couldn’t help feeling there was something better out there waiting for her. If she had only thought to take off this way by herself before — before the Catkind — Lucia thought she might have finally figured out what she was meant to do with her life besides party, dance and kiss pretty men.
She still wanted to find the answer. Lucia feared now, though, that those answers would involve cats. The Catkind were everywhere these days, or at least they certainly stuck to her family like glue.
Was she next?
