BLURB:

Clark Wright’s life as an ER nurse is turned upside down when he’s attacked by a rogue vampire and left for dead. Saved by Alessio, a snarky vampire bartender with an unsettling connection to him, Clark is thrust into a dark paranormal world. As they hunt down Clark’s attacker, they uncover a series of violent vampire killings plaguing the city.

Bound by fate and a magnetic attraction, Clark and Alessio must unravel the mystery while confronting their deepening bond and the strange dreams connecting Clark to his dead twin. Time is running out, and survival isn’t the only thing at stake—so is their fated love.

Dark, erotic, and hauntingly seductive, this is a tale of fated love, betrayal, and the gritty underworld that hides beneath the surface of the city.

REVIEW:

Nothing like having your life turned upside down and backwards when you are just trying to go home after a long day at work. To be honest, Clark was getting a little tired of tragedies taking over his life. Being turned is a tragedy right? Except it brought Alessio into his life and maybe that makes it a little less horrible…or a lot less.

Alessio hadn’t really ever intended to turn anyone, but something inside him just couldn’t let the beautiful young man die. The draw was irresitable.

This was a very interesting story. I do love my supernatural tales and this one is very good. Not nearly long enough but good. I mean, it’s a whole story and it all gets told, but we are left wondering what will happen to Clark and Alessio in the future. I am hoping this obvious set up with lead to more about them down the road.

It’s a short story, so there isn’t too much I can say without giving things away. However, I can say that it has a very interesting premise with well written characters. They are easy to relate to and I was cheering for them from the beginning. This author is a really good world builder and knows how to keep the reader interested by letting the secrets and twist out a little at a time.

Of course, the sex is very, very steamy and sexy but it doesn’t take over the whole story and that’s something I really appreciate. This isn’t a life changing story, but it is a very good romantic thriller that takes you on a fun journey with characters that I really hope to see again in the future. This is a new author but I will definitely be looking for more from them in the future.

I’m comfortable giving this story a solid 4.5 out of 5. I also apologize for taking so long to get this review out. It slipped through the cracks for me as life has been taking me on a journey of my own.
