I have been waiting anxiously for Robert’s story every since we got Beck’s story. Wow! This one is fantastic and hit so many of my buttons.
Robert is finally having the life he wanted. Time with his son Wyatt to reconnect and get to know him. Making a relationship with Wyatt and his family, including Wyatt’s fated mate husband Sheriff Grayson Beckett–Becks, and his granddaughter from that mating Julianna. Julianna is the apple of her Hops (Pops/grandpa) eye. Driving of and divorcing the bitter and nasty Jane, his now ex wife and Wyatt’s mother, was the best decision in years. And he should have done it many years ago!!! Getting to teach at Wyatt’s Little Cubs daycare has been a true joy. Getting to be with his son and granddaughter plus working with all the kiddos has been very rewarding and he finally doesn’t feel useless any more. But when his newest student, Aiden, arrives with his widower father Jackson the most unexpected thing happened. How in the world was his much younger fated mate standing right in front of him???
I loved getting to know Robert better and had been begging for his story. How that awful woman treated both her husband and her son was awful. But her treatment of Julianna, her only grandchild, was reprehensible! Robert finally leaving her and going to try to build a life with the son he gave birth to and then was barred from was so hurtful. I’m thankful that Wyatt and Becks took him in and let the two men get to know the real Robert. And Robert finally being allowed to nurture a child, his own flesh and blood, was such a joy. I loved that Jackson didn’t let Robert’s preconceived notions about what was right for the younger man phase him. He knew what love and mate was suppose to be like and Robert’s low self esteem, that had been at Jane’s cruel hand and tongue, needed to be rebuilt. And Jackson was just the alpha crocodile shifter to teach that to his omega gazelle shifter!
I’m so thankful that author Raiven Matthews gave us this book before we embark on the next generation of Sweet Alps Alphas and their wonderful omega fated mates. And this was the perfect series to share his story. I look forward to more books in this multi-author series coming soon.
