BLURB:

A defenseman who would do anything for his team, on or off the ice, Jansen McKenna thought he was living the dream until his girlfriend left him for the world to see.

He was in his element when he was playing the sport he loved. Outside of it, he drifted. Then he ran into Stephen Forrester. Falling for his ex’s father wasn’t on his radar. Once he got to know him, Jansen didn’t want to let him go.

Stephen knew he should avoid Jansen. Between his troubled relationship with his daughter and his own shortcomings, he thought nothing good could come from spending more time with the hockey star.

If they were going to have a chance at a happily ever after, they’d have to break through their past. Jansen and Stephen would need to put themselves and their relationship first and hope the fallout was worth it.

REVIEW:

This was a nice addition to the series that takes place in the off season. Jansen is one of the Jetties who has somewhat recently split from his model girlfriend who was more interested in the next best thing.

Stephen is the ex’s father. When Jansen runs into Stephen, the two begin a friendship enjoying each other’s company that naturally turns into more.

Jansen is a strong character who isn’t afraid of new feelings, especially when they involve Stephen. Stephen, on the other hand, is a bit hesitant not wanting to be an experiment. Thankfully, they don’t wrestle with this for too long before deciding to see where things go. They really seem perfect for each other, but the elephant in the room, aka Stephen’s daughter, eventually must be dealt with.

I didn’t love the lack of communication these guys had at times, as it just seemed to be thrown in to create extra drama. It doesnt last too long though before our guys are back on track. They really did seem to be just what each other needed in a partner which made their relationship more enjoyable.

There isn’t too much hockey in this one, but we get to see some of the other players, and a certain someone really needs to find his significant other. I’m looking forward to seeing this series continue.
