I’m such a cliché. Rich, successful…and bored out of my mind.
A classic case of a midlife crisis probably, but instead of buying an expensive sports car, I go on a long business trip to Australia.
Alone. I haven’t trusted myself to be with anyone since my best friend betrayed me, leaving me bleeding and heartbroken.
Until a gorgeous surfer dude named Ocean falls into my lap. Literally.
He’s unlike anyone I’ve ever met. Bossy, carefree, and somehow, he reads me like an open book.
I agree to him staying with me in Melbourne so we can have a fling. With me in charge, obviously. He is half my age, after all.
But Ocean changes the rules on me, becoming what I never knew I needed.
A Daddy.
Oh, and did I mention he’s my ex-best friend’s son?
Daddy Down Under is a full-length, standalone MM romance with a Daddy who’s younger and an older boy who happens to be a billionaire. That doesn’t make him any less needy though. No age play.
REVIEW:
I learnt the word for how I was feeling about my job because of this book. Ennui “a feeling of listlessness and dissatisfaction arising from a lack of occupation or excitement.” This is how 44-year-old Cash Sullivan is feeling when we first meet him. Complete dissatisfaction with his job and life. He has worked hard his whole life dragging himself up from an orphan in Queens to an incredibly successful billionaire and CEO. That is no longer enough; after being betrayed by his best friend he no longer trusts anyone enough to have a relationship and to be the Boy he so desperately needs to be.
On the spur of the moment he decides that he will go to Australia to work on a take over himself , in person . Whilst sat on the on the plane he meets a young, surfer dude called Ocean who is a Daddy. Ocean also happens to be the son of the best friend who betrayed Cash so badly.
Ocean is young and confident. He lives in Australia now to teach surfing since being beaten and disowned by his father because he is gay. He is living his own best life. Ocean can’t believe it when he runs into Cash his father’s former best friend.
The two of them have a real connection and Ocean offers to look after Cash whilst he is in Australia and to be the Daddy he needs even if it sonly for a short while. That is just the start of a book which covers some pretty heavy topics, being orphaned, parental homophobe, death of a parent, abuse by a parent and the deception, spitefulness and nastiness of Cash’s former best friend.
I really enjoy books where the submissive character is more mature, and the dom /daddy is accommodating of that and indeed finds it attractive. The recognition that kneeling hurts knees and especially once you hit middle age is great. Let’s face it a lot of us middle aged folk have aching knees even without kneeling!!
A well rounded story that is a good mix of heat, mild kink, and a good storyline.
