REVIEW:
This is book 4 of the Erebus Assassins from Ms. Reese Knightley. If you have been following her books, this series is a spinoff from her original series Out For Justice, Code of Honor and Cobalt Security. The Erebus Assassins are the darkest, in terms of what they do and who their targets are, of all the groups. You need to be someone who is willing to go above and beyond to capture or kill the worst of the worst in this world. People who are predators, abusers and those who take advantage of the young and who kill without conscience whatsoever, people who are not just the bane of society but they are the ones who make wild animals look tame.
Wrecked is the story of Crow and Rebel. Although Crow belongs to the newest group, Genesis, but the fact that they train some of those they have saved from Solomon and Tanis, these young ones were brought to the ranch where they will be trained before joining any of the groups operating under the former Secretary of Defense’s watchful eye.
Crow is now being ordered to bring Rebel in, as Rebel thinks life with so many rules is just something he cannot do so he is out there somewhere killing people. Crow was chosen because of a brief connection that he had with Rebel when the young man just arrived at the group after being rescued.
Now, every time Crow catches up with Rebel, somehow he gets away until Crow finally realize that Rebel is now of age and if he wants to live his own life away and not tied down by any supervisory figure then Crow thinks that that’s his choice. And as far as he can see, Rebel is not killing randomly, those he killed were monsters too. Currently, Rebel is working for predator called Jimmy Lincoln (although Rebel knows what Jimmy is into so maybe he just wants to bide his time before Rebel ends him or) like an enforcer/collector. Although when Rebel found out that Jimmy has been keeping a young teenager in his house named Angel, finding out that he has been raping said young girl and keeping her under lock and key, Rebel now wants to save the girl and end Jimmy and everyone in his organization.
When Crow got hurt (Rebel presumed him dead) and Rebel got taken, the worst case scenario they have been avoiding became real and Crow (even hurt badly) could not be stop from going after Jimmy Lincoln, no matter what, and getting Rebel back.
Ms. Reese Knightley have created these beautiful, flawed characters who are just amazing to read about. She writes these amazing stories that would keep you from putting down the book until you finish the very last page. Amazing Ms. Reese Knightley! Congratulations! I cannot wait for the next book.
