REVIEW:
I am a huge fan of Wendy Rathbone and her Omegas. Add in that this is part of the Alpha Dragons universe, that I love, and this was a no-brainer to want to read.
Jinn is trying to do everything to rid himself of the alpha that he had a lapse of judgement in having a one-night stand with while out celebrating a co-worker’s birthday. When the guy simply can’t take no for an answer and becomes an unhinged stalker the judge rules to provide a protective order. But a simple piece of paper won’t protect the vulnerable (and extremely rare) omega dragon shifter. After fleeing from a moving truck while being kidnapped and held captive, Jinn knows he must do everything to get away from Colt or he will never be free and probably dead soon. When the famous Lyric, an alpha dragon shifter racer athlete who is the fastest flier in the world, dragon spots the omega in danger he flies into action to rescue and protect the beautiful omega that his dragon Lyrican knows is his true mate. But the omega is terrified after the ordeal he has been through and Lyric treads lightly to make sure Jinn is safe and sound. But do their dragons know more than the men do?
This is set in Alpha Dragon universe but it is not the forced mating that the wolves brought in for auction endured. Although those Dragon Alphas were honorable men and hated what their Dragon leader were doing they never forced anything and true love prevailed. This quick story is of a chosen mating between an Alpha Dragon shifter and his true mate Omega Dragon shifter. It does involve a defenseless omega being stalked and kidnapped by a unhinged and possibly feral Alpha dragon shifter who won’t take no for an answer. I loved how protective Lyrican was and how nurturing his human alpha self Lyric was of Jinn. This book is very fast paced and had me turning the pages quickly to see where the story lead us next. I particularly loved how Lyric and Lyrican were finally forced to talk out what was happen to the each of them. Lyric and Lyrican had functioned more as two separate entities even though they shared the dragon shifting body. With the introduction to Lyric to their lives they finally talked and got on the same page. I get that Lyric managed the financial and public side of their lives and made sure they were well taken care of. But that was at the expense of Lyrican and Lyrican finally spoke up. But it was the addition of Jinn/Jinnan to their lives that they both finally saw the true final goal!
Although I stated that this is set in the Alpha Dragons Universe, I can easily see this read as a standalone book. It really didn’t affect either the series nor this book…At least not yet.
