BLURB:
Dominic Lowing knows stress. He lost his father to a stress-fuelled heart attack, and his own fast-paced career as a lawyer has done little to help. But he knows which coping mechanisms work for him: diet and exercise, of course. And a very active particular sex life.
Fitch Lamont has been working his corner on Wylde Street for two years. Not exactly the direction he saw his life going, but he’s a glass-half-full kind of guy. He has a roof over his head, enough food to eat—sometimes—and two best friends that make it all worthwhile.
When Dominic encounters a rent boy who ticks all his boxes, he decides to make it a regular encounter. But then their arrangement, their personal lives—and feelings—collide in unexpected ways.
Fitch found more than a client in Dominic; he found safe arms and a kind heart. And maybe, if he could let his guard down long enough, he might realise he found his future too.
REVIEW:
I have to say the first book was a mixed bag for me but I enjoyed this one thoroughly – their story doesn’t take off from where book 1 leaves off. Instead it builds on and adds perspective and nuance to the story unfolding in book and then takes it ahead to the happy conclusion of the two while giving us glimpses of Kylan and his two mysterious (but we already know who) daddies.
Fitch and Dom’s daddy boy dynamic was scorching hot and some of kinks they explore are my favourites to read about. This book is high heat, so go in expecting a ton of chemistry, banter and fiery hot attraction. The scenes are so well written and the dynamic is very balanced, consensual and well done. Also there are some very sweet moments to add in the emotion we expect from an NR walker book.
One of the things that stood out for me vs the last book were the tough but necessary conversations both Dom and Fitch have as their relationship deepens, conversations around their feelings, their professional lives and what the future looks like. It left me wondering if this series would have been better as a single book with Multiple POVs vs three books with 2 povs. I can see my self enjoying the third book even more as more nuance reveals itself.
I would definitely recommend giving this a try, if you enjoy reading about a sweet sex worker wanting to be a bratty boy for a growly daddy.
