Zander
The last thing I expect when I meet the new guy at work is for my life to be thrown into chaos. I’ve spent years hiding my attraction to men, but Luka is funny, outgoing, and for reasons I can’t explain, he sees past my introverted nature and wants to be friends.
I’ve never felt a connection with anyone like I do with Luka. He makes me want to open up and share the parts of myself I usually keep hidden. I don’t want to make things awkward between us, but the more I try to get over my feelings, the harder it is to stay away.
Just when I think my life can’t get any more complicated, I start chatting with a guy on an anonymous kink app. Sinbin might be a stranger, but he’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a man. But then again, so is Luka.
How did I go from never having guy trouble to wanting two men I can’t have?
Luka
Being the new guy at work isn’t easy. Neither is having a crush on one of my coworkers. Zander is quiet and shy, and doesn’t have the best social skills, but he’s also sweet and caring and one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met.
I’ve never known anyone like Zander, and the more time we spend together, the harder it is to only see him as a friend. I want him, but he’s straight. And to the outside world, so am I.
In a desperate attempt to get over my crush, I log into an anonymous kink app and start chatting with a man who doesn’t just rock my world but understands me in ways no one else ever has. I might not know what MrNiceGuy looks like, but he feels familiar, like we’ve known each other forever. But then again, so does Zander.
How can I be drawn to two men at the same time? And more importantly: how do I choose between them?
Zander and Luka’s story is a coworkers to friends to lovers romance featuring two mechanics who have no idea they’ve been sexting with each other on a kink app. You can expect anonymous texting, D/s vibes, found family, hurt/comfort, fantasy exploration, lots of dirty talk, tons of steam, all the heat, and so many feels as these coworkers realize that what you see isn’t always what you get. It is book 3 in my exciting new Legacy Mechanics series but can be read as a standalone.
REVIEW:
Note: This is the third book in this series and does have very minor spoilers for the previous books. That said, it can absolutely be read as a standalone.
This is a STEAMY story between two men who are coworkers. Neither are out, but the are definitely attracted to each other. Too bad they spend a LOT of energy trying to hide it
Both men use a kink app and they find each other through the app – but just by user name. They have NO idea that the guy they are each getting off with is their coworker crush! When they figure it out, well things go from on-line to IRL. But there are complications. Luka isn’t out as bi. Zander isn’t out as gay. They have family issues to get through and they aren’t sure they should be messing around with a co-worker.
Their attraction is impossible to ignore however They spend more and more time together and as they do, they are both catching feelings. Family and and work issues have them keeping things on the DL though. Can they make this work in the real world?
The angst in this book is mainly around the fact that both of these guys are holding their sexuality close to the vest. Luka’s concern of coming out as Bi has to do with his past – the loss of his father and the casual homophobia of his hockey buddies. He also deals with anxiety. Zander’s angst comes from being raised in a religious community and having no other family member other than his mother. His dad has never been part of his life. His mother lost her parents and she is a recovering alcoholic. She clung to a religious community in recovery and they were quite traditional and pushed him to marry early. Luckily Ivy, his ex-wife is still his best friend and helped him figure out his sexuality. However, he’s worried about losing his mother – even though she treats him terribly. In the end, there isn’t as much fallout as either man expects There is a LOT of sex and discovery of compatibility in this book. The fact that they connect on a kink app is a twist – since it turns out they are coworkers IRL
I enjoyed their getting to know each other phase and the care Zander takes of Luka. He’s very caring and he supports Luka with his anxiety and panic attacks. They are really good together from the get go. Despite a few obstacles, luckily none are so difficult they can’t overcome them. Recommended.
PS: I will say the last chapter and epilogue bring in a LOT of other characters from not only this series but from previous related series to this one. Readers who haven’t read the other books/series are likely to be a bit confused as to the relationships between all these guys. It doesn’t really impact the relationship between Zander and Luka, but it’s worth mentioning.
