I know I have to keep my hands off of my best friend’s son, but it’s hard… really, really hard…
I didn’t know the guy I picked up in the bar last night was Hero’s son. To be fair, he didn’t even know he had a son until today. I guess we’re all just scrambling to put on our poker faces.
Keeping my hands off of Milo is hard enough thanks to his lickable dimple, flirty smiles, and virgin skin. But I swear this has to be a test. Why else would Hero insist that his son come to live with me? And why is it so hard for Milo to just keep his clothes on already?
If I can’t keep my hands off of him I could lose my friends, our club, even the tattoo shop I love more than anything. Given the stakes, it should be easy.
Right, and a Prince Albert just pinches a little…
Virgin skin is a best friend’s (adult) son romance with a side of roommates-to-lovers, some forced proximity, a “stuck in the dryer” moment, and a whole lot of tension between two guys who just can’t keep their eyes and hands off of each other, no matter how much they try.
REVIEW:
Oh these two were so adorable!
Milo is the bouncy puppy-dog energy guy Piston finds on a night out at a bar. Piston is a tattoo artist and biker and all around good guy. Milo is a virgin who is 20 years younger than Piston. That’s ok. Piston isn’t going to do anything Milo isn’t ready for. Milo thinks he wants to do stuff with Piston, but then he sort of chickens out. He confesses that he really just wants some cuddling and company since he just got to town to look up his dad who doesn’t even know he exists.
When Milo shows up at Ink Slingers the next day, Piston’s stomach (and other things) drop through the floor. UGH! First time he’s had an interest in a guy in a long time and it’s his business partner and closest friend’s son? FML. Luckily Milo plays it cool and nobody knows that they’ve met before. Although another one of the tattoo artists suspects something’s up
Hero is shocked of course. But once the initial surprise wears off, he wants to get to know Milo. He offers him a job at the tattoo shop and also offers Piston’s guest room since he’s the only one of the group who has the space. Piston can’t very well tell Hero the reason he doesn’t want to do it. Saying “I really want to bang your son” is NOT the way to go.
Milo really likes Piston though and he doesn’t want to make things easy on him He keeps doing things like stealing and wearing Piston’s underwear. The rest of the guys at the shop try to get Milo to go out and find a date and Piston is not doing a good job hiding his jealousy. Milo isn’t letting up and then they get snowed in
Oh whatever will they do to pass the time until the roads are cleared
But there is still the elephant in the room. If they are going to continue, Piston has to be honest with Hero. This could go south in SOOOOO many ways. Milo is really happy to meet his extended family and he’s making friends in town too. He really doesn’t want to lose this new found family.
This is a swoony age-gap story with two very different men. Piston is sort of a grumpyish guy who hasn’t had a relationship in forever. He’s just not found anyone he’s interested in until one night in a bar when he meets Milo. Figures that this is the ONE GUY who has to be off-limits. But Milo doesn’t want to take no for an answer. They definitely have a real connection and he’s not willing to give up so easily. Or at all really The rest of the guys at Ink Slingers are part of the story here too – not just Hero. Plus we even get a very funny interlude with the Big Bull mechanics crew and the Four Bears crew too helping with a rescue mission. Milo is a total sweetheart and Piston’s gruff exterior is hiding a heart of gold as well. They are so good together
Also a huge shoutout for the special pet that Piston introduces to Milo which is one of my favorite creatures EVER!
Tim Paige and Liam DiCosimo are such a dream narration team. I always know the combination of K.M. Neuhold and these two guys will be a terrific listening experience and I’m not wrong! Tim Paige is a wonderfully gruff Piston who does his best to hide his marshmallow heart underneath what could be an imposing exterior. Liam DiCosimo’s bouncy Milo energy is the perfect foil for Piston I could have listened to them for 8 MORE hours with this story. I loved every second. I believed their love and passion and funny moment. Just perfection in these performances. Always a winner and highly recommended!
