REVIEW:
Awww this book , I absolutely loved it. All the swoon, some anxiousness, no drama but all the feels. I have to be honest, after I read and loved Ryk and Lake’s story in book 1, I was a little apprehensive about reading a whole continuation story post the declaration. Book 1 ended beautifully, satisfying but still making me want to keep living in the world the author created for these two. So I trusted Briar Prescott (I highly recommend doing that and checking out her backlist) and dove right in and I am telling you it was the best decision.. I was delighted, surprised, completely gripped by the story the author was telling about how Ryker and Lake continue to grow, as themselves and as a couple to eke out a life they can love.
It was not an easy road for them but Ryker is steadfast and a rock and tenacious when he needs to be, when Lake hides. Lake who had so much to overcome, taking those steps to trust, pushing away his intrusive thoughts, coming into his own.
Definitely recommend checking out this duet.
I also need to say, I am a huge fan of the themes of found family running through this story, specially considering that I am not a fan of either set of parents, specially Lake’s (even after finishing the book I feel a bit protective of Lake). Scott and Lake’s mom and John are deplorable!!! Not that the other adults were beacons of goodness when all this started tbh. I do recommend reading book 1 first. Their story is wonderful and it’s best to start at the beginning
I wonder if there will be a story for Hayes? Or Kelly? Or Hayes and Kelly ?
