Never fall for the villain.
Daniel is done dating bad boys—at least in real life. His only crush these days? The Shadow King: a devastatingly dangerous half-fae villain safely trapped in the pages of his favorite web novel.
Until he isn’t.
The barrier between their world shatters, and when Caelen steps through, he tries to claim Daniel as his mate. His touch makes Daniel shiver, his kisses make him burn, and there’s nothing safe about him anymore.
But Daniel doesn’t want safe. He wants the man he glimpses behind the darkness consuming the Shadow King’s soul. As their bond deepens though, he senses something else lurking in that darkness—a secret that could destroy them both.
Every instinct screams at Daniel to run. He knows better than to fall for the villain, better than to risk everything for an impossible love.
He’s going to do it anyway.
Note: This book should be read after first reading Knox (book one in the series.) Content warnings can be found on my website.
REVIEW:
Disclaimer: This is not a standalone, it is in fact book 2 of The Monsters of Veridia series. All characters from the first book are present and accounted for in this book, so if you want a clue about what is going on, please pick up book one and read it before you tackle this second book.
Now for the good stuff. This world just keeps getting better and better. In this story we uncover more about the Veridian world and its potential impacts on Earth. The impacts are now being felt from the overlapping of these two worlds and the angst this causes is palpable.
I love how this is, what I would call a Villain romance. We met Caelen in the first book and he’s the chaotic Shadow King. But does a villain deserve an HEA, with a fated mate? Call me crazy but I think even bad guys need a good dose of love. From the beginning of Daniel’s interactions with Caelen, the chemistry these two bring, just leaps off the page and smacks you in the face. Which makes their circumstances even more extreme and tenuous. Silvana is just next level in her character development. I mean she makes me want to root for the bad guy. Then there’s Daniel, I mean the guy has the worst luck with men. Her creative way to reveal the past of these two is just so refreshing.
Silvana is just a master at writing the fantastic prose of this story. Which should not be a surprise to anyone at this point. From the sexy times to the adventures, she creates for these characters it’s a roller coaster ride from start to finish.
Side note – seriously hot cover. I loved this one even more than the last one for Knox.
Do Daniel and Caelen get there HEA? Does Veridia and Earth survive the overlapping of worlds? Do Villains deserve love? Once again, people, I am not going to reveal the answers. You need to read this story and find out for yourself.
With the highest of recommendations, you need this book. So do yourself a favor and got to your favorite eBook purchasing site and grab this book before its fate is decided by the Shadow King.
Till next time….
