REVIEW:
The Erebus Assassins is another spinoff from Ms. Reese Knightley’s original series Out for Justice, Code of Honor, and Cobalt Security, although I think this will not be the last spinoff because we now also have Justice Force. It is a group of series that involves special operations under the watch and supervision of the former Secretary of Defense, who reports directly to the President. These are men who are mostly former military or police, who do operations under the radar, assisting the local authorities when their hands are tied. The general public will never know they exist, they save in secret but they always get the job done. Among all these groups the Erebus Assassins are the darkest (in terms of what they do) and only a handful of man are willing to be a part of this particular group.
Among the few assassins in the group is Echo, a man who is not from a military background but from somewhere more sinister. He was taken off the street, imprisoned (a mild word) and trained to kill from a young age. He has honed his abilities and is very good with knives.
Ice was former Erebus but took a leave to look for other opportunities. He is close with Dave, the former Secretary of Defense as his father was a close friend of Dave’s. When he met Echo and got stabbed in the process, he couldn’t stop thinking of the man. When he learned that Echo is Erebus, he wanted back in the group. He is intrigued and really interested although it might get him killed in the process.
Echo thinks he is broken because of what he has gone through since he was very young. He thinks he is not worthy of the attention that Ice is giving him, pursuing him and trying to get Echo to get to know him.
When Echo received a video of him in action and then received instructions to meet (with the video sender), he ended up facing Ice who was sent to the same place supposedly for a kill, Echo thought that Ice was the one who sent him the video and so he shot him. But Ice never once tried to defend himself even when he had the chance. Ice never fought back even when he was about to die. That’s when Echo realized that they were set up and that they are the only ones who can find out once and for all why they are being sent to kill each other. They had to disappear for a while after Ice got shot in order for Ice to recuperate and so that they can plan on what to do next. When they were able to inform the former Secretary of Defense what happened, they started to make a plan on how to capture the one who masterminded all of it. But in the process, they have to save Rogue and Fisher from the same madman, they are brothers of Echo in the sense that they were all taken off the streets and trained to kill.
I love Ms. Reese Knightley’s series, they are full of action and the romance is really off the charts in terms of who the characters are. These men are really strong in physicality, in character and they each bring their own particular strength into the whole group. They are all beautiful though, no matter how broken they think they are. Love heals with the right person.
Congratulations Ms. Reese Knightley!
