As a hockey goalie, I don’t back down. When I meet my match in a figure skater, will my relentless pursuit win his heart?Ace
Being in a dry spell sucks. Not my hockey game, my love life.
My friends decide it’s time to fix it. So they drag me out, dressed to impress.
Then I see him—exactly my type, all smoldering eyes and a slender body that’s got me forgetting how to breathe.
When our hookup leads to a connection, he gives me his number and I can’t believe my luck.
Then… he ghosts me. Out of nowhere. Why?
Zoma
All I wanted was a quick hookup to take the edge off. No complications, no strings.
In walks this guy. He’s massive and sweet. Plus, he’s got a way of making me feel safe. I think he could be more.
Then I find out he’s a goalie.
I’ve been down this road before, and still bear the scars. The last time I fell for a hockey player, I gave him everything and he left me shattered.
No, I’ll focus on my figure skating competitions and the kids I train. It’s easier.
But Ace keeps showing up, all broad shoulders and an infuriatingly irresistible, aw-shucks smile.
How am I supposed to guard my heart when he refuses to give up on me?

REVIEW:
Christie Gordon has officially converted me to a hockey fan girl! The Squad are my heroes and I wish I could have seen them compete in the championship game and could have seen them when I saw my only NHL hockey game when I went to see the Arizona Coyotes. Yes, they have become that real to me!
Ace McAdams is riding high off of winning the national college hockey championship as the star goalie for ASU last year. Now he just needs to get a contract offered to him before he graduates this final year. And he really wants that contract to be with the Coyotes so he can be back playing with Mason and Archer again. But they already have a solid team and the Red Wings in Detroit really want him. When he meets and hooks up with Zoma, a cute figure skater at ASU going for his Master’s degree, things finally look up for his stagnant dating life. But when the cutie ghosts him he’s confused. Then a chance second meeting, working with kids at the Ice Den, finally lead to Zoma trusting him with his truths and fears. But can it last if Zoma opens his dream figure skating training center in Phoenix and Ace gets chosen by Detroit?
I get where Zoma was coming from. His ex was a disgusting, cheating man that didn’t deserve him and horribly scarred him. Trusting another college hockey player that is on the fast track to getting a contract with a top NHL team wasn’t in his vision. But Ace was nothing like his ex Brody and even his bestie Nova knows that. He just needs to be finally over all that mess and open his eyes to was is really good standing right in front of him…his future if he will let it happen.
I am really, really enjoying this new series. I love the Rock U series but was leery of a college hockey group of guys. Hockey was so not my sport. But Christie Gordon’s writing has entranced me and now I find myself actually watching the sport and imagining members of the squad in various positions. Can’t wait for more of this series. I will say that this could be read as a stand alone but I think you will appreciate the book and the close friendships more if you read the entire series in order. These guys are a found family that love and support each other and whom they choose to love.
