Mike Emory: I’m the drummer for Chaos, a band I created with my best friend, Fletcher back when we were teenagers with big ambitions and stars in our eyes. A chance meeting with the rock god, Dagger Drummond catapulted our careers into the stratosphere. There’s no looking back now because keeping the trajectory of our rising star heading skyward requires a dedication and persistence I wasn’t prepared for. Humor helps me keep my life simple. I’m known for having the ability to laugh at just about anything—including myself. I may be a successful musician but unlike my best bud, I’m unlucky in love. Instead I became an Olympian at hook-ups. My favorite combination is a triad. But, finding two perfect partners to share life with long-term is unlikely to happen. It’s a good thing I have the broad and capable shoulders of my personal security guard to cry on because sometimes life is hard on the soul. And sometimes love creeps up when you least expect it, and in the least likely place of all—right under your nose.
Griffin Sanstrom: My job is to protect Michael which isn’t always easy to do. He thinks he’s a comedian, when most often he’s just being a brat. I’m on to him though, because I know sometimes those who laugh the loudest are the ones crying on the inside. I’m supposed to be his shadow but the closer I find myself getting, the weaker I am at putting distance between us. I want to be with him all the time—even when I’m not on duty. Now doing my job objectively has become a problem. Working in personal security we’re not allowed to have distractions from the job, but what happens when the man you’ve fallen for becomes the biggest distraction of all?

REVIEW:
An Ann Lister Rock Gods novel spin-off…YES PLEASE!
When Chaos got the gift of a lifetime, in the form of the superstar founder and lead singer/guitarist Dagger Drummond, discovering and taking the fledgling band under his wing, life starts changing very quickly for the band members. The first and biggest change is that they now have bodyguards hired to protect them. Very gorgeous and fiercely protective guards from Fizzbo’s Ventura Security. And the guy that drew Drummer Mike Emory is hot as hell but totally off limits. Or is he? Because Mike doesn’t easily back down from a challenge and climbing that guy like a tree would be a night to remember!
I love Ann’s rock stars and all their body guards. She has this way of weaving magic and love while protecting the ones that they are there to guard. Griffin (and yes his name fits him perfectly) has his hands full and his work cut out for him guarding Mike. Mike is the quintessential class clown of the band. Always keeping things light and funny. And hooking up in a three-way is his favorite form of personal entertainment and satisfaction. But Griffin has also figured out that Mike’s lightheartedness can often be a smokescreen for what is really going on in the younger man’s life. Fletcher and Mike have been best friends and joined at the hip forever. And Fletcher getting a permanent boyfriend Dallas has put a small but powerful wedge in their relationship. Mike’s happy for his best friend but he’s lonely and starting to realize the hookups aren’t doing it for him as much. We wants more and Fletcher’s relationship is spotlighting that need. And the forbidden fruit of Griffin makes it harder. Mike sees what he wants and needs. And the friendship that has developed between Mike and Griffin is real. But one night would never be enough for either man and Mike won’t risk Griffin’s career if it it won’t work.
I love that we have Dagger coming back to help usher in the next generation of Rock Gods and what better place to promote them than Rocktoberfest? I have been a huge fan of these books and getting a spin-off series is an extra special treat! I hope you love the new Chaos books as much as I do!
