TITLE: Every Hidden Truth
SERIES: Far From Ruined #2
AUTHOR: Nik Knight
PUBLISHER: Self-Published
LENGTH: 278 pages
RELEASE DATE: January 24, 2025
BLURB:
Two young men haunted by their pasts. One bond that can save them both.
Sarcastic loud-mouth, Silas Brigs is used to taking care of himself. He’s done it for years, after all. But the too-perfect Ben Adams has other plans. Against all odds, the California diver has worked his way under Silas’s prickly exterior, and Silas is left to wrestle with the simmering attraction building between them.
When their feelings can no longer be ignored, Silas and Ben must work together to navigate their insecurities and trauma, or risk the delicate relationship they’ve come to rely on. But Silas’s life is filled with more than simple high school drama, and being his friend—let alone more—puts Ben in danger. Monsters from Silas’s past refuse to sleep, and the secrets are piling up. Unfortunately for Silas, some truths don’t stay hidden.
This is the second edition printing of the Far From Ruined trilogy. While it is the same general story/plot as the original publication (2019), it has been heavily revised and re-edited to better reflect Nik Knight’s style, voice, and principles.
REVIEW:
There are hundreds of little warm gestures, looks, smiles, and many more moments between Silas and Ben.
They are friends now, Silas can’t deny it anymore. Ben was determined to become closer to Silas, and he succeeded, it was fragile but still, they are friends.
Silas is afraid to lose what they have, it’s precious, it’s everything.
But being open about what they have at school is a problem for Silas, if his assailant hurt Ben, Silas would never forgive himself.
Three months ago Ben saved Silas from being sexually assaulted. He hopes Silas will tell him if something is wrong. Silas has some awful secrets that should stay in the dark.
Ben is protective and has a side even Silas is surprised by.
They have more in common than they know!
“He was everything, and I’d fight for every second he gave me.”
This was another impressive story of this series. The everyday lives of Silas and Ben.
Nothing dull to find. It felt genuine and quite compelling.
The aftermath of the assault was a dark place in Silas’ life, it’s a significant part!
“It’s always darkest before the dawn.”
The story has also hundreds of other moments and matters of their lives. You’ll find humor, sarcasm, support, sweetness, sexuality, romance, banters, hurt, threats, insecurities, jealousy, doubts, fights, and horrible acts, it’s all here to be amazed about (or shudder)!
It’s a sublime created story, super fascinating and enthralling, and quite heavy weighted!
I had smiles, goosebumps and tears for the endearing, lovable and upsetting moments.
And we’re not done, there’s book three I’ll start reading now!
