But after so many years of moving from place to place, he wants to settle down. Zero volunteers to help guard one of the magical small towns where paranormals and humans live together openly.
He’s settled in this new town, has a life, friends, and hopefully, soon he’ll meet his mate. But what he doesn’t expect to find is his childhood friend alive and well. Except his friend isn’t alive. He’s undead, just like all the creatures he’s hunted down.
Zero Judgment is a standalone MM romance novel as part of the multi-author collaboration Tales from the Tarot. This book is based on the major arcana card Judgment.
REVIEW:
Any one who follows my reviews know that I love to read series the most. A well written singular novel is a treat but getting deep into the lives of the characters in a series really works for me. You can also almost guarantee that I will become very attached to the men in that series that they are immersed in and the likelihood is that they and their universe will become real. Kota Quinn’s books and her men have that effect on me every single time!
Zero has decided to settle down. He has been one of the most fierce and dedicated trackers of Rogue Vampires for the Elite Guard for the past fifteen years. It has been his mission to eradicate all the vile creatures of the undead like the ones who kidnapped his childhood best friend and killed all of the witch’s family. But Zero realizes that Calix is most probably gone and has been for many years. The beautiful blond boy of his childhood would not have lasted long as the plaything and living blood bag for the vicious creature that ripped him away. Calix has to escape his prison that his husband Helios keeps him in. Helios took him from his captor Dante but not before he turned the young man in a moment of lost control and lust. But his friend, the young witch Nico that is also a captive of Helios and a source of fresh blood, has helped me with a plan for our escape…if we dare because it will be the end for both of us if it doesn’t work!
I have wanted Zero’s story every since I read Rook and Autumn’s story Love Potions and Moonlight that was part of the Cauldrons and Kisses Multi-Author series. Zero was a member of the Elite Guard and Rook’s best friend. It was only fitting that he make his forever home in the sanctuary town of Heart’s Hollow. And it was no surprise that he built a mansion as a home base for his other guards/friends to come and relax in. They each had their teammate’s back no matter what part of the paranormal world their origins came from. They also each had their own unique and powerful gifts that made them such a powerful and forceful team together. And learning Zero’s reason for his drive against rogue vampires made this all the more special when he learned who the beautiful man was that he met in The Magic Shop.
I absolutely love Kota Quinn’s stories and have truly enjoyed her paranormal ones. This one was particularly special and poignant. Childhood friends reunited after being ripped apart and discovering they are true mates that have thought and dreamed of each other during their forced separation…that’s swoon worthy for sure!
Great book to curl up with on a cold winter’s night. It is a standalone but I think reading Rook and Autumn’s story is a plus to read first.
