After what my family did to us, I somehow manage to not only survive, but to thrive. I’m an attorney, a junior partner in one of the most prestigious law firms in the country. The climb up the ladder is daunting. But my guy, the love of my life, pushes me to never give up, and I haven’t. We know the sacrifices we’re making will give us a better life once my education pays off.
While that’s all true, fast forward in time. Somehow, I’ve lost my way. I’m walking a tightrope where one wrong step could cost me everything. Now I’m stuck in a place I never planned to be with a man who’s losing faith in me by the second.
Beau Brooks
My determination to be a self-made man is becoming a hard goal to achieve. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner. I love him beyond reason, but all that devotion isn’t helping me get through the long, lonely days and nights for months on end. Dash puts everything else first and is morphing into a man I don’t recognize, leaving me to live a life I never wanted.
When I finally see the truth in a way I can’t overlook, leaving my love is the only real option. Am I strong enough to make a change or will I continue to fade into the hidden shadows where Dash seems to want me to dwell?
Our strong relationship could unravel when the differences become too hard to ignore. Can the bonds we forged in our past hold us together or will our carefully laid foundation crumble, leading us to separate lives?
The Gravity Series is an unforgettable whirlwind romance chronicling the love of two men over three decades. Fusion heats up the scene with passionate alpha males who navigate the often rocky road to love. Love’s rarely easy, but when it’s true, it’s a battle worth fighting for.
REVIEW:
The is book two of the Gravity books from Ms. Kindle Alexander. We follow the lives of Beau Brooks and Dash Richmond. If you have read the first book, Friction, then you are aware of what Dash’s parents did to Beau all those years ago. And you would also know that Dash left everything to be with Beau. This all resulted in being cut off from everything, from his allowance, his inheritance and his college tuition.
In this installment, we will see the adjustments that our two beautiful lovebirds have to do in order to be with each other and support each other. We will read about the sacrifices that they have to make in order for Dash to finish school and Beau to be able to continue working with UPS.
But in order to achieve all of Dash’s dreams for them, Dash had to make sacrifices, and that includes working more hours in the firm he joined right after graduation. And that also means Beau being alone most days and nights while Dash works hard in order to make partner. A heart can only take so much rejection right? Beau felt ignored and not important enough to spend time with his partner by then. He felt like he was the least important thing in Dash’s life right then and he cannot take it anymore. So he left.
When Dash realized what he has been doing and at what cost, he beg Beau to give him another chance, but Beau has decided for them to spend some time apart to find themselves and realize what is important to them. He asked Dash for a year to sort their lives out and see where they are, as a couple, at the end of this self-imposed “break.”
It was hard for them both, as they soon realized that they belong with each other. Dash resigned from his job, set up his own practice, in the same city as Beau. He gave up and sold their house in Chicago and even their old house. As a couple, he sent half of the sale earnings to Beau, which Beau wouldn’t accept at first but because Dash was stubborn, he decided to give some to his best friend and his kids. He also saved two German Shepherds from a kill shelter and they have been his companions for all those lonely nights without the love of his life.
This second book broke me, I couldn’t bear all the sadness that our beloved Dash and Beau felt all those months that they were not together, all those days and nights Beau was all alone while Dash worked hard at the law firm. But all of these things are hopefully done now and I have so much hope that finally in the third book, we will get to see them live the life that Dash has always seen them live, even only after a few days of knowing Beau. They belong together, they are each other’s love!
Thank you Ms. Kindle Alexander for creating these stories of true love that weathers life’s challenges and obstacles. Thank you for creating beautiful and imperfect characters who are perfect for each other and who fights for their love.
