Welcome to the Love Bytes Reviewers’ Best of 2024
Another year has passed in which books have brought all of us a much-needed escape and sense of comfort. Our Love Bytes team reviewed approximately 1,000 LGBTQ+ books in 2024, from contemporary romance to fantasy, paranormal, historical, adventure, mystery, comedy, and everything in between. Each day for the next weeks, we will feature one of our reviewers’ top picks from books and audiobooks published in 2024. These lists highlight how diverse our tastes in reading are, and offer something for everyone. With thousands of fantastic new books each year, written by hundreds of creative and talented authors, it’s so difficult to narrow our lists down. We all have many favorite authors not featured here and wish we could acknowledge them all.

Friction , Fusion (Gravity Book 1 and 2) by Kindle Alexander – Buy Link
Ms. Kindle Alexander has always been a “one-click” author for me and that hasn’t change since I started reading her books. After the Tattoos and Ties duets, I was longing for a new “true love” story from them. And they didn’t disappoint with the Gravity series. This is a trilogy of books with one main couple, Dash Richmond and Beau Brooks. Two men who are opposites in life status but the love they have for each other surpasses all that and they know that they belong with each other. Third book comes out in April 2025.
Broken, Agony, Damaged (Erebus Assassins Book 1 and 2) by Reese Knightley – Buy Link
A spinoff from the current series by Ms. Reese Knightley. It is about the members of a group of assassins called Erebus, also under the SecDef’s umbrella. The men in this group are a little bit darker (in personal experience I might add) in order to be able to do this particular job. Really good series, just like all the others from Ms. Reese Knightley.
Without Him, Without Fail (Cobalt Security Book 5 and 6) by Reese Knightley – Buy Link
A spinoff from the interconnected series Cobalt Security from Ms. Reese Knightley. Cobalt security provides protection to high profile personalities. And these men who protect put their lives and heart on the line whenever they get assigned. Action and romance combined, I just love it so much.
The Science of Attraction, The Geography of Happiness (A Mackenzie Country Story Book 3 and 4) by Jay Hogan – Buy Link
Ms. Jay Hogan writes so beautifully and the way she describes everything in her books just amazes me, no matter how many times I have read them. These particular set of books tells of the men in Mackenzie Country where sheep stations and the Southern Alps are all around you and you can’t help but fall in love with it all. Really amazing read, I can’t wait for more.
Proof (Targes Executive Protection Book 1) by Sloane Kennedy – Buy Link
The first book from a new series from Ms. Sloane Kennedy. This is Cass and JJ’s story and how events in the past can shape one’s future, but sometimes things are not what they seemed, things can be more darker and more sinister. It is a beautiful story of love and hurt, anger and healing. True love is true love.
Eternally Blessed, Divine Heart (Rebel Kings MC Book 7 and 8) by Garrett Leigh – Buy Link
These two books are part of the Rebel Kings MC series by Garrett Leigh. Eternally Blessed is a duet featuring Nash, Lock and Orla. It is the second book, Unholy Trinity was the first book. Divine Heart is the book of Viktor and Ranger. These books are just amazing, written beautifully and tell stories of sacrifices, pain and ultimately finding the one person in your life meant to be there for you. An absolute gem, this series of the Rebel Kings.
Black and Brown: Raven Assassins (Ravens Series Book 1) by A.E. Via – Buy Link
A new series from Ms. A.E. Via, featuring the Ravens, and this is the first book. It tells us about the organization where Ex and Meridian belongs. In this first book, we get to know Grace and Mirage, a pair of assassins who are known as the Brown Ravens. A beautiful start of a new series.
Bloom, Part 1 (The Smoky Vail Alliance) by Gianni Holmes – Buy Link
The first book in a duet from the series Smoky Vail Alliance. It features Bloom, an enforcer of a motorcycle club and Logan, a doctor. They have opposite jobs, but yet they work, in Bloom’s eyes anyways. He is getting under Logan’s skin for sure, and Logan is not sure how to handle all of it, although Bloom could handle it all by himself if given the chance. An unlikely pair but perfect for one another. Another series I love and I cannot wait for the second book of Bloom.
