Synopsis
Dark clouds are gathering. Icarus is the light at the end of the tunnel. And in his wake: Chaos.
Even though dark clouds gather in the distance, Asher, Vers, and Korya start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. That “Light” is named Icarus, and with him comes chaos. Even as the trio’s immediate problem is solved, more people are out to get them.
With danger at every turn, they can only depend on each other. Who is this mysterious alien called Icarus? Is he there to help protect them from the DPL or are they about to become victims of an insidious plot to end the planet? Either way, the friction is burning as they take one step closer to unraveling the mysteries of Asher’s parents’ death, and what the DPL is hiding.

“You do know you’re still in your underwear, right?” Korya pointed out as they exited Vers’ speeder. “Not that I’m complaining about the view or anything, but they can’t offer much protection.”
Asher cut a mean side-eye at Korya, who threw up her hands, letting the conversation die even before it began. Vers chuckled as ze used the door to assist zimself in exiting zis very luxurious vehicle.
“If they didn’t want to see me in my underwear, then they should have started this bullshit after I had time to put on some pants.”
Well, he did have a valid point there, so Korya fell into silence. After all, she was wearing fuzzy pink house slippers.
Vers adjusted the fit of zis jacket, and of course, ze had to adjust zis crotch just so, ensuring that the bulge in zis pants was shown to optimal effect. Ze even paused to wink at Korya before ze commented, “Some of us use our mornings efficiently. Before the sun came up, I ran a diagnostic on my ocular ports, pared my toenails, masturbated in the shower, and paid my bills. All before the others in your crash pad even decided to pull their asses out of their dive chairs –”
“You jerked off in my shower… before I had a chance to scrub my ass? What the fuck, Vers?”
“Oh, that’s why I could scent you in there.” Asher nodded, pursing his lips as if finally discovering the answer to some great mystery. “After two showers you would think your pheromones would dissipate. You pent-up or something?”
“I can’t believe we’re having this conversation with you in your underwear and the one-armed bandit is calmly discussing his sexual habits just before we go in that building to fuck up some people. And I’m wearing bunny slippers. Doesn’t anyone see the insanity in this? No? Just me?”
“Stick with us,” Vers said brightly. “We can give you so many new experiences and take you places you could only imagine.”
“In your bed.” Korya snorted, shooting a narrow-eyed glare at the Skovan. “I know you were going to say it, weren’t you? You just don’t have an off button, Vers.”
“Well, none of my lovers have ever complained about my stamina or my eagerness to please, so I guess I really don’t need an off button, Sip-Sip.”
“What we need –” Asher stepped up and put paid to that conversation before they could began violently flirting with each other again “– is to get this over and done with so that I can find some damn pants.”
“Why didn’t you get your pants before we rolled out?” Korya demanded. “You had time. I mean, you put on your boots –”
“And they are very nice boots.” Vers almost laughed as ze moved around the speeder to stand in front of them, creating the third in their neat circle of talent, one the world should come to fear, if it had any common sense.
“You aren’t helping,” Korya hissed, her green plaits fanning out as she turned her head toward zim.
“It isn’t my intention to help,” Vers pointed out. “I like the view. I’m not hitting that, but I can appreciate a fine piece of ass. The underwear and boot look is really working for you, boss.”
“Thank you.” Asher nodded. “I appreciate it, even though you’re a crazy Skovan throwback who is jealous because my ass is damn near perfect.”
“Engineered to be the best.” Vers nodded back. “And I’m not jealous, I’m envious. There’s a difference. But my ass runs a close second to yours.”
“Won’t any of you take this shit seriously?” Korya asked, throwing her hands up in frustration.
“No.” Asher shook his head calmly. “I will not take this shit seriously. I refuse to take anyone who calls themselves 2-D seriously. And besides, I’m angry at the moment. I was relaxed after my shower and now I have secret messages being sent to me that obviously didn’t come from these assholes. I got shot at with some ancient weapons that should be in a museum by imbeciles who couldn’t hit the side of a mothership. I’m standing here in my fucking underwear. No. I refuse to take this seriously, Korya, not until I’m at least standing in front of the son of a cowardly bitch who caused me this stress before my morning coffee.” The last part he yelled toward the small building that sat on the end of an expansive business park in Pacifica. It was one of the few structures of its kind in the area, and the expensive-looking block of buildings housed several high-tech investment firms, along with branches of some of the most sought-after financial planning companies in existence.
The trio easily stood out in this area bordering on multi-million credit homes, and not because of the beautiful vehicle they arrived in.
No, they stood out because Asher was standing in this overly expensive, high rise strip mall in his underwear and bellowing in his deepest angry male voice, his face darkening into an interesting shade of pink. Needless to say, they were drawing attention they might not want, and it was making Korya a bit nervous.
“So… let’s do something about it.” Vers grinned as ze spoke, zis green eyes narrowing as ze cracked zis knuckles and took a step forward. “You want me on point?”
