BLURB:
The last place these men want to be is in the limelight.
Law enforcement in Baltimore has a PR problem. Robberies, bombings, and violent crimes are on the rise. The public wants something done, and even the FBI is catching blame. When Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett accidentally become the handsome faces of the counter-offense, they find themselves the center of attention from the media . . . and a dangerous band of criminals.
Being respectable is busy work, and the added attention makes it harder than ever to keep their blossoming relationship a secret. Neither man is quite sure where they stand, or where they want to stand. Zane can’t seem to say those three little words, and Ty is too mired in his past to notice.
The bombings throughout the city are getting worse. Without any leads, Ty and Zane find themselves taking their frustrations out on each other. Being together in the shadows but hiding in the spotlight is one more stressor when they’re already taxed to the limit. As a mysterious bomber closes in, it starts to look like neither they nor their relationship has much hope for survival.
*This is a limited re-release of the original series, without changes. Some aspects of the story are now dated, and an updated version will be published at a later date.*
REVIEW:
The continuation of the long favored series is now available again.
Ty & Zane continue to struggle with defining their relationship. Ty is all in but Zane is still struggling to express himself. Now they’re both being thrown into the limelight as the police and FBI as being pressured due to crime in Baltimore. Robberies and bombings are happening and no one can figure out how to stop it. Ty & Zane keep being at the wrong place and the wrong time. Though they do keep getting caught on camera. Dealing with the public has been a different aspect for them.
This starts to put them in the crosshairs for the latest set of crimes with the group targeting them. Will they make out unscathed? As we know, these two are always get caught up in the action and this is no exception. These events are more a catalyst for the two to try to further figure out their relationship.
As I’ve said before, what I love about these books is that they are not the perfect couple, things don’t always go their way, and they struggle to navigate their lives. Both characters have distinct, fun qualities about them that keep the reader interested in them. They are somewhat boneheaded but it’s part of their charm? They have a real yen/yang dynamic yet they’re sometimes the same in their thinking. It’s this dynamic that has drawn so many to read these books, including myself. This isn’t the strongest in the series but it does help build their dynamic. This book ends in a cliffhanger so it’s great that the rest of the books have been released and you can continue on to the next one.
