Doctor Robinson O’Reilly is burned out. Exhausted, jaded, and disillusioned with the bureaucracy of his profession, he’s ready to throw away his entire career. Convinced to take a part-time position in a small town instead, he packs his medical bag for Hartbridge, Montana.
Who knows, maybe the change of pace and mountain air will do him good.
Firefighter Captain Soren De Silva moved to Hartbridge two years ago. He loves the town, the people, his job. What he doesn’t like is the lack of queer men. Well, the lack of available queer men. There are a few queer couples in town whom Soren can only look at with envy.
He wants what they have.
There’s a new doctor in town; not Soren’s usual type, but there’s something about him that Soren can’t ignore. A friendship sparks between them and Soren can’t help but wonder if that Hartbridge Christmas magic the others joke about is real.
Because a spark leads to flames, and this is not a fire Soren wants to extinguish.
REVIEW:
How wonderful it is to return to Hartbridge with this new book from author N.R. Walker.
Although it isn’t shown in the title this new release is definitely taking place in Hartbridge and we meet our wonderul familiar characters, who we all came to love over the past years.
I toroughly enjoyed a re read of all these books before diving into this one and it was such a warm feeling to read their books again.
While we very quickly got acquinted with Soren in a former book, this book tells his story and that of new doctor in town Rob.
This story is a bit slower paced with two characters who aren’t typically young guns but have some stuff under their belt.
I loved how they circled around each other and got to known each other finding their mutual interest in each other from friendship to more.
If I have to mention something is that I loved their interaction, their friendship their connection but when they get together, like “together” “together” there is a lot of psycical mentioning and I have to say for me it felt a bit to much. I love the romance especially in these holiday stories and combined with the friendships of the men who found love in Hartbridge , that is what for me makes the stories special and heartwarming, so to be honest there could have been less sex so to speak.
Special mention to the kriss kringle part with everything that came with it (no not want to spoiler anything) but this was absolutely fabulous from the set up, the gift exchange mention as the huge surprise.
That all being said this is a wonderful sweet, loving edition to the Hartbridge books and let’s be honest I cannot wait till next years edition.
Because we all need our yearly dose of Hamish & Ren, Jayden & Cass, Gunter & Clay, Braithe & Colson and now ofcourse Robinson & Soren.
