REVIEW:
Let me say that this is one heck of a start to Silvana’s new series. She has really set the bar high with this one. Not that this is a surprise to this reviewer, as I feel she always sets the bar high. I have to say this is a brilliant storyline. I loved this one so much, I did not want to put it down.
Adrian and Knox have off the chart’s chemistry, but should we put that down to Knox being an Incubus? I’ve learned over time that Silvana loves to give her characters lots of angst – which I’m there for.
Let’s talk about world building for a moment. In this story, she throws the real world and a fictional world into the blender and pulses it all together until we get an urbanely creative amalgamation. This world is cheeky and wonderful at the same time. I mean who wouldn’t want to live in a world where your favorite character comes crashing through your skylight.
It’s always fun to see how characters are created and how they evolve through the course of the story. Silvana teases us with each character’s past as she incorporates these otherworldly characters into the human world Adrian exists in. She tailors each character’s reaction to their personality and it’s very refreshing. Not all authors take the time to make sure the character from another world or dimension reacts appropriately to the crazy of the human world.
Which leads me to her prose. Brilliant as ever. From the sexy times scenes to the action-packed scenes, the details are descriptive and informative.
One last note, something I rarely comment on, is the book cover. This cover was extraordinary.
Do they win the first round of battles with the Shadow King? Do Adrian and Knox find their HEA? Are Knox and his team real or just Adrian’s imagination coming to life? Well people, I’m not going to answer these questions. You will need to get the book and find out for yourself.
With all that said, I emphatically recommend this new book and series from Silvana. So, make sure you run to the nearest eBook purchasing site and snatch up this story and fast as you can. You won’t regret it.
