When Jude entered The Passing Through Cafe, Toni thought he’d be nothing more than a fun night, a challenge to win, a fixation to satisfy; Toni didn’t expect Jude to be exactly what he never knew he was looking for.
As the rightful heir to the Maryno family dynasty, Toni grew up with clear expectations of who he was supposed to be, and more importantly, who he wasn’t. Growing up a constant disappointment isn’t a childhood experience he recommends, but he’s come a long way from the little boy who could never measure up to his family’s toxic standards. At twenty-nine, he’s finally proud of the man he’s built himself into, and while the routine of his life is simple and, sure, sometimes lonely, he’s content.
Or so he thought.
Enter Jude, a human from across the veil, who ignites something in him that he’s never allowed himself to explore, and Toni can’t wait to burn. While the spark of attraction is instantaneous, he knows it’s going to take more than a romp in the hay to win the human over. So Toni quickly sets to work, proving to Jude that home can be found in the most unexpected places, that chosen family is always worth fighting for, and that their love is far from small.
Join Toni and the rest of the eccentric staff of The Passing Through Cafe in Nik Knight’s rom-com urban fantasy series, full of found family, hilarious hijinks, spectacular self-discovery, and love that defies definition.
REVIEW:
What a genius story! Man did I laugh loud, I’m still grinning!
Jude visits The Passing Through Cafe with his friend Ollie, and Toni our dear unique Elas, is instantly smitten with Jude. Jude is human, he prefers a friend status, and Toni accepts his offer. Better something than nothing.
“You come with accessories”
Toni has a quite dramatic family, they are not very close, and he chose a life for himself. Luckily he has his friends in Gluttony and his best friend Gem. Everyone knows Toni and Toni knows everyone.
Since meeting Jude they are friends, but oh boy does Toni want to get in his pants. But Jude made it clear, friends zone only, Toni even got his advice to seek fun elsewhere. That hurt, a lot. He wants to devour Jude and only Jude.
“You know, I ain’t the smartest guy. If you’re gonna do stupid things, just do me.” My heart!
Toni and Jude are hot together, one has two d!cks and the other a drawer full of accessories, imagine the fun they have!
The gossip flowing around with all the characters was just hilariously ott, so much fun. There are a lot of arguments and fights, but somehow always good-humored.
There are also some serious matters going on.
Family is important is the saying, but a chosen family is the most valuable!
“Myri je entwyn”
There are two main characters, but to be honest the whole crew is super important.
Can we all please be as sparkling fresh open-minded as the wonderful creatures of this story, pretty please!! These creatures are utterly endearing and that’s in one word: fabulous!
Even better can I live with them? With noise-canceling headphones, because hahaha they can’t stop talking!
Yup, I adored this awesomely written story!
A must-read!
