REVIEW:
I truly enjoy Toby Wise’s shifter books and look forward each and every one!
Milo’s bestie has set him up on his newest job as temporary PA for the CEO her company. What Bridgette failed to share was that Baylen Ongash not only very gorgeous but also definitely not a people person. He is brash and demanding when Milo and him first meet. But Milo excels at being a fantastic personal assistant and also doesn’t put up with crap. As the two navigate what is soon realized as attraction a mixup in addresses leads to a night that neither will soon forget. But Baylen is all about professionalism and him being Milo’s boss makes a relationship impossible. But when fate adds in that they are mates how long can either of the two resist the other?
This was a cute, quick read where an octopus shifter and a human with mixed species parentage meet and it’s obvious of not only their attraction to each other but Milo’s inner octopus is screaming mate the second they act upon their mutual desires. I loved that Milo was very perceptive and knew what Baylen needed. There is a small bit of power exchange/dominance but nothing more than letting Baylen let go of all that over-fills his brain. And it works. These men are both evenly matched and their dynamic really worked for me once Baylen let it happen. I loved how patient Milo is. I wish I had that ability to wait patiently like he did.
Cute, sweet book with all the good feels and a sweet baby at the end in this HEA novella.
