Under the mistletoe with my enemy? What else can we do but kiss?
A family emergency brings me back to Christmas Falls after running away from the loss of my mother six years ago. Not much has changed, and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or bad, especially when it seems my high school enemy hasn’t gotten over his habit of circling around me.
Jett is everything I’m not, so full of confidence like he’s never done a single thing wrong in his life. He vibrates life, and I have to admit his presence distracts me from being back in Christmas Falls. What I didn’t expect is for him to take all my attention.
He’d gotten under my skin back then and he’s only dug in deeper since, and I can’t let anyone find out how much I love that fact. Now if only he’d stop stealing my heart with his crookedly perfect smiles…
Christmas Falls is a multi-author M/M romance series set in a small town that thrives on enough holiday charm to rival any Hallmark movie.
REVIEW:
This years Christmas Falls series of books has not failed to delight me again. The whole series just puts you in such a good Christmassy mood. I am walking around singing Christmas songs, our decorations are up, I have a smile on my face and warm heart.
Remy ran away from Christmas Falls 5 years ago after his Mum passes away. He is horrified to realise that his dad doesn’t even want him to know that he has broken his leg and needs help. Determined to be the son his dad needs he takes an extended leave from work in New York City to come back to Christmas Falls to help his dad Adam run The Snowflake Shack the town dinner and his dad’s pride and joy.
Once he is back he starts noticing that Jett, a guy that was always really weird with him at school, is coming into the diner every day and keeps looking at him. He has no idea what is going on.
Jett has had no luck in dating, and he knows why. There has never been anyone to compare to his lifetime crush Remy. He cannot believe that Remy is back in town and has spoken to him and now it seems he even wants to be friends!!!
I have to be honest some of Jett’s behaviour in this story especially prior to the start of the actual book does seem a tad stalkerish and probably would freak me out a bit. Remy doesn’t seem to mind though so that’s ok.
I know there a few good Christmas Series’ out there this year but one thing I am finding with this series the further we get in is that there is more interconnection between the books. Most of them have the same central events, tree lightings, parades and in this series a flood at the animal sanctuary but this Christmas Falls :Season 2 goes a bit further. It really feels like the authors know the other books in the series well. For example, in this book Jett goes out on a date Leo arranged by match maker Nick, this time we are seeing it from Jett & Remy’s perspective where is 12 Dates of Christmas we see it from Leo and Nicks perspectives. A lot of planning must have gone into these books.
This doesn’t mean that you need to have read all the prior books to enjoy this one. If you had not read the prior ones, you would not know that the scene had been discussed before and it would not impact your enjoyment of the story at all. If you have read the prior books, then it will just make you smile as the scenes are quite small and it doesn’t feel like they are retelling the same story.
I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
