When a sunshiny cinnamon stick with paws-itively purrfect holiday plans meets a grumpy Grinch neighbor with a smokin’ hot… chimney, bells aren’t the only thing jingling.
I spend all year gearing up for the Christmas Falls festival season. Those five weeks are showtime for the animal shelter, and I’ve got it down to a science to help all my four-legged friends find their furever homes.
My well-oiled machine goes off track when I discover a massive leak at the shelter. And Grandpa, my only family, is recovering from a hip replacement, and I can’t stop worrying about our latest shelter dog. To put a star on the top of my anxiety tree, Roman, my Scrooge neighbor, is giving me a hard time about the festive decor on my half of our duplex. It’s not my fault I’ve got more Christmas spirit in my pinky than he does in his entire broad-shouldered body.
But something about Roman tells me he could love Christmas and this town as much as I do if he just gave them a chance. I don’t care if I’ve got a thousand other priorities on my list, I’m making it my holiday mission to get him to let down his guard and show me the wonderful and caring man behind the terse talk and award-winning RBF. It’s like opening a present on Christmas morning and seeing exactly what you wanted from Santa.
It’s all tinsel and sugar cookies until my heart decides it wants Roman under the tree. But his New Year’s resolution is to leave town, and I can’t let myself fall for a man who doesn’t plan to stick around.
Christmas Falls is my forever home. How do I convince him it could be his?
Christmas Falls: Season 2 revisits a small town that thrives on enough holiday charm to rival any Hallmark movie. It’s a multi-author M/M romance series.
REVIEW:
If you are looking for a cute book with lots of holiday cheer to warm your heart this is the book for you!
Roman Schaffer learned early in life to not let yourself get attached to one place because the next big adventure is on the horizon. And he has already been in Christmas Falls longer than he expected. Plus there is this over-the-top festival season that makes the town literally glow in space. So when his neighbor keeps adding more decorations to his side of the duplex he’s about had it. Even if that neighbor is a cutie. Elias, director of the Santa’s Helpers Animal Shelter, is the epitome of Christmas Spirit. But even he has his limits. The shelter is bursting at the seams with pets ready for their fur-ever homes. But when the shelter’s pipes literally burst there is no more room for them all. And then there’s sweet Carol, the Burmese mix, that needs special attention so home she comes with him. But trying to get the skittish dog to leave his car and go into his home full of his menagerie of pets has proven more of a challenge then even the peppy Elias had anticipated. Surprisingly his grinch of a neighbor offering to help has been a blessing. Roman is the first person that Carol has responded to. But how can he get the gruff guy to help more. And how does he keep his crush on the hunky neighbor in check?
I loved that Elias lead the way to opening Roman’s heart and trying new things. Things that Roman had always been so guarded about. His vagabond parents lifestyle really changed Roman in a not so positive way. Keeping people at arm’s length to protect yourself is no way to live your life. But, when you add in Elias’s Grandpa with the help of Nancy, Elias’s right hand person and Anisha, Roman’s co-worker, and Roman never stood a chance. Christmas Falls is where Roman was suppose to land and they showed him that it was his forever home too!
It was a cute twist that Warren, from the Dahlia Springs Christmas book 24 Dares of Christmas, was Roman’s childhood best friend. I love all things Dahlia Springs and it was great to get it mentioned in this wonderful Christmas story.
