BLURB:
A heroic, sworn bachelor risks his neck to save lives, but his heart needs a daring rescue.
Kerry likes his beer cold, his coffee hot, and sex without strings. Running an emergency response crew takes up most of his time, and he reserves the rest for his family. Besides, he’s experienced enough heartache for two lifetimes and isn’t looking for more misery. Kerry’s carefully crafted peace shatters when he meets Keegan, a hazel-eyed hottie and his brother’s new friend.
Falling for Kerry is a collision waiting to happen, but Keegan can’t resist the heroic hunk’s charm. Smoldering eyes and wicked grins tempt Keegan to go flat-out, even when he’s barreling toward a dead end. Rejection is the last thing his newfound confidence needs, but the crash might be worth the risk if Kerry’s there to give him mouth-to-mouth.
A crowded bar. A slow song. Months of mutual pining reach a fever pitch, and the invitation is out of Kerry’s mouth before he can stop it. Three minutes. Two battered hearts. One dance that changes everything.
Brick by brick, Kerry and Keegan dismantle the walls around their hearts to build something beautiful together. But old habits die hard, and traumas are slow to heal. Their love will either be the most beautiful gift or the messiest mistake.
The Beautiful Mess is book six in the Redemption Ridge series. Though each story features a different couple, reading the series in order is essential. The Beautiful Mess contains mature themes and is intended for adults.
REVIEW:
Disclaimer: This is book six of the series and you should read the previous five books if you want to have the backstory for the main characters in this story.
When it comes to this series, Aimee has really out done herself. I just love this beautiful word she’s created. As we get to meet even more people in this series, we also get to see the wonderful town she’s created. I personally would like to have bar like the Thirsty Cowboy to go to. In this book we have Kerry and Keegan. Both men have been put through the wringer and the question s, can these to find happiness while negotiating the pitfalls of addressing their mental health issues.
Aimee puts so much thought and effort into creating these characters, it is just so engaging, fun at times, sexy and thought provoking. She infuses her characters with so much love and heartache that it’s a real pleasure to see how they achieve their happy endings. What I especially love about this story is the ups and downs of their mental health journeys and how they overcome those challenges.
“Hey, Kee.” Kerry’s sleepy voice sent a zing of longing straight to Keegan’s groin. His breath hitched, and Kerry sounded more alert when he said, “Is everything okay?
” Keegan willed his racing heart to calm down. “That depends.”
“On?”
“How you feel about me showing up on your porch unannounced…with a basket full of goodies?”
“Like Little Red Riding Hood?”
“Well, I drove over a creek and through the woods.” Keegan considered for a second. “But there’s nothing grandmotherly about you.”
“Wait! Are you here now?” Rustling fabric came through their connection, followed by hasty footsteps on a hard surface.
“That depends,” Keegan repeated.
Kerry’s dark and delicious chuckle rumbled through the connection and down Keegan’s spine. “This Big Bad Wolf is going to devour you.” Then, he disconnected the call.
I have loved this series from the beginning. And this new story is just a beautiful addition to this universe. I highly recommend this story and y’all need to run to your favorite eBook purchasing site and grab this new addition to the Redemption Ridge series. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
