I think one of my favorite things about this time of year is the time I get to spend with Dominic. Yes the holidays are usually really busy, but there are also those quiet moments when its just the two of us. He and I both loved the holiday season. I love the lights and the celebratory elements of the season. I put up the trees and decorate the house.
Dominic on the other hand is the cook. He bakes the cookies and filles the house with all the holiday scents that really bring this time of year to life for me.
Together Dominic and I have developed a number of traditions including out holiday open house. However, this year, our holiday season will be much more subdued. Dominic has had back surgery and he will be taking weeks to recover. So many of our treasured activities will have to wait. But there’s always next year.
Amy Lane lives in a crumbling crapmansion with a couple of growing children, a passel of furbabies, and a bemused spouse. Two of her books have received a RITA nomination, she’s won honorable mention for an Indiefab, and has a couple of Rainbow Awards to her name. She also has too damned much yarn, a penchant for action-adventure movies, and a need to know that somewhere in all the pain is a story of Wuv, Twu Wuv, which she continues to believe in to this day! She writes fantasy, urban fantasy, and gay romance—and if you accidentally make eye contact, she’ll bore you to tears with why those three genres go together. She’ll also tell you that sacrifices, large and small, are worth the urge to write.
