Action Romance is a setting I really love in my books, and this ticks all my boxes!
We were introduced to the Ravens when we met EX and Meridian in Nothing Special VII: EX Meridian. They are assassins who came into town when God and Day were trying to seize back their streets in Atlanta from the drugs dealers that were out of control. EX and Meridian were there to settle a personal score that involved EX’s little brother.
This new series is a spinoff from that particular book where it was mentioned that there are only a few Ravens in the world and they go and operate internationally. Black and Brown is Book 1. If you have read the Valentine book released entitled EX Meridian A Black Raven’s Valentine, then you have met Grace and Mirage, the Brown Ravens.
Grace and Mirage are just like EX and Meridian, they have been stripped of all their emotions and made more lethal through enhancements. Just like EX and Meridian, they are attuned to each other and functions as one during their operations. They too have a special way of operating.
As a former Doctor, it is but natural for Mirage to be curious about all the enhancements they have been receiving, it is but natural for him to go around poking in the laboratory in the middle of the night to check what kind of chemicals were put into their bodies to make them what they are now.
Grace was a decorated sharpshooter when he was a Marine, that skill has been enhance and now more than ever, he is committed to righting (all) the wrongs in the world or wherever they are being sent, while protecting the innocent.
When they started operating, they were sent to eliminate targets deemed guilty and hazardous to the world. But then they met another group of assassins who planted the idea that their supposed target is not supposed to be eliminated instead he is to be protected. That the assassination is being ordered by someone in the organization for his own personal gain.
Then EX and Meridian came to their rescue in one of their operations and all four of them began to talk of the possibility that what the other assassins said about these orders might be true. That their abilities are being used by someone for their own personal agenda.
Amazing!
Congratulations Ms. AE Via, this sounds like another bestseller in the making, I cannot wait for the rest of the series! It promises more action and more operations involving all the Ravens.
