Zenith
With my mate at my side, I lead the queen’s army south to quell the simmering human rebellion before it spirals into a full-scale war. But Prince Anash is no warrior. I must protect him from the dangers of battle, even when he insists on putting himself in harm’s way.
Anash
I walk a tightrope between my love for Zenith and my devotion to the rebels he seeks to conquer. His orders come from the royal bloodline he’s sworn to protect, but I can’t let him do something he’s sure to regret. I must find a way to tell him my secret, but what if the truth is more than our love can bear?
Bound by fate, divided by duty, can Zenith and Anash survive the coming dusk unscathed? Or will opposite oaths shatter their bond forever?

Gatherdusk is the stunning conclusion to the story that began in Gatherdawn. It features a duty-bound gargoyle, his steadfast halfling prince, and their journey to a hard-won happily ever after. Add a dash of secrets, first-time swimming lessons, and spicy opposites-attract chemistry, and you’ve got a steamy gay fantasy romance carved in the very heart of stone!
REVIEW:
Note: This is the third book in this series and I don’t know how well it would work as a standalone. Tattered Allegiance sets up the original conflict and Gatherdawn introduces Anash, Zenith and the rest of the main players in Luminia.
Whew! This is a crazy ride for Anash and Zenith. I have to admit that it took me a little bit to get back into this world and remember everyone and their place in it since it’s been quite a while since I read Gatherdawn, the previous book. However, once I got back into the swing of things, I was right back where I needed to be – namely rooting for Anash to convince Zenith to help Princess Suvi avert an unnecessary and cruel war. Jindal and Rahz figure fairly large in the attempt to convince Zenith to stand down and work through diplomatic channels. But Zenith was designed to protect the bloodlines. Anash is concerned that he’s been keeping secrets from Zenith – his mate while he’s been working with Suvi and the other, but it can’t be helped.
There’s certainly conflict when Zenith discovers Anash’s secret. Will he help his mate and the rest of the rebels trying to save the kingdom from cruelty and death and destruction or will he continue to serve the queen. There are some aces in the hole here though because Zenith has had misgivings about the disappearance of his former leader of the gargoyles. When he discovers what has befallen Talus and listens to the others, well let’s just say his eyes are opened. But the army Zenith leads is going to need more than a just cause to prevail. The queen is quite powerful and without their secret weapon, well it’s going to be close. And of course Anash is Zenith’s Achilles heel.
I really enjoyed this last book in this world. I’ve loved these characters from the first book and it’s great to see Rahz and Jindal again 🙂 Princess Suvi, Anash and Zenith do make a formidable team! Anash feels absolutely terrible about keeping things from Zenith but there is so much hanging in the balance. I loved the surprises that were sprinkled throughout the story. Characters who were referenced in early books show up on page with some great panache! This whole series was so well written and the story was romantic and action-packed and steamy with some really great takes on what justice looks like when there is a nonhomogeneous society 🙂 Well done and recommended for a terrific finale to these series.
