BLURB:
Sometimes you have to make deals with the devil to save the people you love.
I belong in the shadows. My profession demands it.
It’s a risk going to Takoda, where the new Buccelli Boss knows my face, but I’ve gone too long without checking in on a situation that concerns me.
I knew better.
Now a debt’s been called in, and there’s Corey. Muscular, gorgeous, broken Corey. A boy who thinks he’s too old for a Daddy.
I won’t leave him alone…I can’t.
Filling the Void is book one in the Devil’s Deal Duology. One problem solved brings a HFN, but there is an overall story arc.
**There is vigilante justice and the threat of rape. Please be kind to yourself and your mental health and avoid this one if those are triggering to you.**
REVIEW:
Well we were promised the dark side of Takoda when the Honey- Do Daddies series finished and this book definitely delivers that. Who knew that Takoda had several Mafia families trying to run it. I certainly didn’t. They even try to intimidate Christian at the Tap Tavern in this book but Hutch steps in. I have just realised writing this that I am making it sound like you must have read all the Tap Tavern series before to read this one and I really don’t think you do as this is the only scene that features all the Daddies
This book is about Bosley who we originally met in A Monumental Love -Destination Daddies Season Two, where he was the Daddy Chip (as in Chip from Chip’s Forever Daddy Love On Tap 2: Pain & Healing Book 3) was with for the weekend. Again, you don’t need to have read these prior books to understand what is going on as it is explained in this book.
In this book Bosley meets Corey, the owner of a 1920’s themed Boutique hotel where he is staying. Corey maybe a successful business owner who is more than capable of standing up for himself and his staff but he is also a boy who misses his daddy who passed away unexpectedly a year ago. He also has a problem in his hotel that he doesn’t know how to solve. Someone is going through his guests’ rooms. Not stealing anything just disturbing their things and Corey cannot figure out who it is. He needs help.
Whilst I will miss the sweetness of the prior books in the Takoda Universe this the first in the Dark Duet Duology does bring something else to the Universe. I can see it appealing to most of the original readers but also a new audience that enjoy darker books with hitmen and mafia families in them whilst also the protectiveness of a Daddy / Boy relationship. I also like the fact that the two main characters are more nature than in many Daddy/ Boy books.
I am looking forward to the next book in this series redeeming Bosley. It will be interesting to see how someone used to a nomadic lifestyle finds Takoda,
