REVIEW:
It took me a while to get this review out tbh. For some reason I just couldn’t get into this story.
I absolutely loved the first book and I am a fan of the authors so this little fact kind of took me by surprise.
I tried several times to start the book and see it through but it took me I honestly admit a couple of tries.
In the end I ended up liking the book thankfully, but there is definitely a difference from book 1.
The writing as always is solid and easy to read, this book is low angst and for some reason it feels slow.
There is a wonderful bantering between Ash and Colin and you cannot help to like them so that is definitely a plus.
The small parts with their friends/roommates are cool too, I absolutely love Atlas and Troy, so it is wonderful to glimpses of them.
It is hard to pinpoint why it didn’t really work for me, like I mentioned before I loved book 1 and I am a fan of the author(s) so it might be just a me issue in this case. Or it might be that after book 1, I expected more. It just lacked on certain points for me, the chemistry, the slow, the sex focus, I don’t really know.
Where the first half of the book is slow the second half is mainly sex, that I admit I skipped large parts of, and the kink added took away even more of the story/connection that was (supposed) to be there and there is the issue of how many times can you use certain words….
I noticed myself rushing towards the endline because I did want to know how the story would end.
Thankfully there were some highlights there. The “party” surprise and seeing all the guys together was great. Those parts are the highlights in the book. The friendship and camedarie they have with each other.
Overall if you like a low angst, slow start, high sex story this is right up your alley. For me a story needs more and despite me liking both Ash and Colin, this story lacked a lot of other things.
