REVIEW:
This was a fun quick read perfect for a fall evening reading adventure.
Quinn loves getting to teach at UFA (University of Future Adventurers). He did not enjoy his time out in the field as an Adventurer and feels that teaching other witches about conjuration it the best use of his talents. Bennet was born to be an Adventurer. But when a near-death attack, during his last adventure, leaves him physically challenged for life he became a teacher and coach of the Tracker and Field team at UFA. He misses being the scout that he excelled at before his life-changing injury but lives developing the youth that are the future. When the school gets a sizable donation of magical things from an estate Quinn’s boss asks for his help in cataloging the items and making sure they are all safe. But a stumble by Bennet’s captain of the team leads to a predicament no one could have foreseen.
I loved that both of these guys pined for the other but, for various self derogatory reasons, though the other was way out of his league. But those around them knew and maybe a little “push” was what they needed.
I loved that this book brought back memories of watching “Groundhog Day” with my kiddos when they were young. The twist of it being witches and a hex was a cute theme here. Also the addition of being stuck in a time loop. Thankfully this has very little angst and became sweeter as each man tried to make their predicament a little easier to live through. I did love that, even though the day repeated and no one else had memories of what transpired the day before, they each remembered the events and how the other made it so special.
This was a fun, fast read that was perfectly set for the fall season. Hope it brightens up your chilly evening too!
