What a fun tale with a few new twists!
Rook has moved to Heart’s Hollow to have a new, non-judged life and pursue his true passion. In his old wolf pack only cared about his size and his muscles. That is until the “accident” that has left him in his current Moon Cursed state. But here he has opened Rook’s Apothecary, with his sister at his side, has made friends and is starting to feel accepted with who he has become. He has a special knack with plants and developing potions of magical abilities. The fact that he moons after the very attractive witch that sits in the gazebo each day a Ross from his shop and uses his special magic on the beautiful purple wisteria to make it flourish. Autumn Sinclair, of THE Sinclair’s of Heart’s Hollow, takes a moment every day to sit in the gazebo that was special to his missing older brother. With Blaze missing he has no choice but to step into his brother’s place as the next vessel for the special and very powerful magic his family possesses. But this will remove any chance of living his dreams of finding true love and marrying. So an arranged, loveless marriage is looming in the very near future. But a chance meeting with the new apothecary owner might just change his fate.
I loved how Rook and Autumn developed their relationship through their shared dreams. It was a new and creative venue for me and I loved it. I have read many paranormal books where true mates develop a telepathic way to converse between the couple. Or a wolf pack to reach out while in their wolf state. But never that true mates could spend their dream time spending quality time developing their feelings and falling in love. I also loved how the various close friends and loved ones supported the mating of this mixed coupling without any reservations. But I think my favorite was Autumn’s familiar, the little red fox Maple, who pushed the two men she figured out were true mates, together both in person and in their dreams.
I was really hoping that we would get to meet Zero, Rook’s Elite Guard vampire hunter dragon best friend and then I was overjoyed to hear we get his story next. I really loved this sweet story of finding true love and your fated mate and look forward to more stories in this universe! Kota Quinn has a way of weaving all her stories across different series in a fun and special way. Big thumbs up for me 👍
