Beau Brooks
The guy of my dreams sweeps me off my feet and over my handlebars, quite literally. But our budding relationship takes a turn when my troubled past resurfaces, shattering any hope for a future. Now, I feel like a hollowed-out version of myself. Memories of piercing blue eyes and sweeping blond hair are all that remain to get me through a day.
I know I have to make peace with my past to move forward into my future. But am I strong enough?
Dash Richmond
I’m the tenth child of affluent older parents, confident, and privileged. But the future they see for me isn’t how I want to live my life. A chance encounter with a guy my polar opposite changes my path indefinitely, leading me to the life I’ve always wanted.
When he’s ripped away from me, I vow to wait for his return. Now I’m stuck in limbo, unwilling to give up on him.
Can the friction of life destroy what they shared or is your first true love like gravity—an unending universal law?
REVIEW:
Another Epic Love Story in the making!
I was anticipating the arrival of this first installment in a trilogy from Ms. Kindle Alexander because I know that it will be a one-of-a-kind love story, as her stories usually are!
Beau Brooks has been dealt a life controlled by his father, controlled by his father’s love of football. When he and his mom decided to leave his dad and looked for a better life back in his mother’s hometown, Beau felt like he is starting to live again, on his own terms. Even though they were poor, he and his mom are positive they will be alright, they have each other and they both work hard.
Dash Richmond comes from an affluent family, the 10th child of an older couple. Dash believes in being genuine and happy, he doesn’t buy into the pretenses that his family sometimes do in order to convince people in town that what they are doing (building a big resort, buying properties, etc.) is for the benefit of the town, although he does keep this to himself most of the time. He believes in the goodness of people, no matter if he sees them doing otherwise.
When Beau and Dash met during the summer, and somehow Beau ended working at the resort’s boating/fishing side of the business, they got closer and closer. They started out as friends and it developed into something so much more. Now, you can see that they are polar opposites, Beau is a bit quiet and insecure (mainly because of his status) while Dash is vibrant and open. He brings out the best in Beau. Beau becomes alive and ready to face the world when he is with Dash.
When something happened that separated Beau and Dash, Dash vowed to wait for him, no matter how long it will take. Meanwhile, Beau believed that he is not worth waiting for, so he told Dash not to wait for him and move on. But Dash is stubborn, even through the years, he was optimistic that he and Beau will be together again.
Beau’s life took on a worse turn, when his father came for him and brought him back to his home, forced him to play football and even went as far as to restrict his movements when he was at home, life became worse and he felt more undeserving of the love of his Dash.
What these two went through even at such a young age, especially Beau, is terrible. Beau became, not bitter, but a little pessimistic as he grew older. He still maintained that Dash could do so much better than him. But fate does have its way, they met again and started to get to know each other again as adults. Of course, Beau would have a bunch of insecurities. But Dash slowly broke each down. But again, something happened (that I had an inkling of during the time they were fifteen during that summer) that you would have thought would break them apart, but Dash stood by Beau.
Ms. Kindle Alexander, you are an absolutely amazing writer and what your books do to me are just plain torture, pain, crying endlessly and healing, with so much love between your characters how can I not love them with my whole heart? You are the best and I cannot wait for the next book! Congratulations!
