REVIEW:
Let me start with admitting I am a fan of Beth Bolden’s writing. I fell head over heals especially with her sports themed series, so this for me was an easy pick up.
I have to admit I was curious to see hockey thrown in the mix and a start of a new series is always exciting.
This is a great start to a new series as there is seriously chemistry between Brody and Dean!
The way Beth Bolden writes this bi-awakening, college romance, roommates story with so much feelings and built up it draws the reader completely into the story.
Brody is just a wonderful social guy compared to Dean and his silent, slightly withdrawn character. Yet where Dean knows what he wants and is set on getting their no matter what, it is Brody who is struggling to see the long term vision.
Obviously the centre of the story evolves on the bi awakening of both these guys and their attraction towards eachother.
The slow progress into their relationship is cute and very sincere. I loved the way they each have their insecurities yet still feel their is something significant happening.
I am a sucker for a good series story with interaction between the main characters but with loads of side characters and this brought it all.
The build up between Brody and Dean from the start as roommates all the way through their experiences, from friends to exploring their sexuality to being lovers is wonderfully brought to life and takes you with them from beginning to end.
Author Beth Bolden takes her time in this process and that together with her fluently and easy to read writing style makes it a wonderful story to sink your teeth in.
The epilogue, as we kind of are used by now (because let’s face it this author kind of rocks those) is awesome and the little side note to Dean’s future is seriously a kick. I sure hope we see something set in that future in the next books in the series.
The set up for the rest of the series looks great and promising and I am super excited to see what is coming for the people on Brody’s team.
And let me just finish with saying can we please have Ramsey’s story!? I am seriously dying to know what his story is.
