BLURB:
I was a man without a family… or so I thought.
I came to tiny Majestic, Wyoming, to escape misfortune: the loss of my brother; my parents’ blame for it; the billion-dollar secret that caused it all.
I find peace in my horses, in my friends, in quiet nights alone… and sometimes in remembering a scorching-hot one-night-stand from two years ago.
But everything changes when Tully Bowman, the man behind that unforgettable encounter, turns up in Majestic bringing me the daughter I’ve inherited (along with her multi-million-dollar trust fund).
Just like that, my peace becomes chaos, my quiet nights are filled with little Lellie’s cries for “Daddy,” and the heat between Tully and me becomes more than just a memory.
Because it seems Tully’s planning to stick around… at least until I prove I’m a “suitable father” and not the fortune-hunter Lellie’s grandparents think I am. And the longer we spend together–the more he challenges and provokes me, comforts and calms me–the harder it is to remember why I ever thought one night would be enough.
I’m a bad bet for fatherhood, but if I choose to keep Lellie and raise her as my own, it won’t be for her money. It will be because this precious girl and the man who brought her to me might be the fresh start and new family my heart has been looking for.
And because the best thing that ever happened to me might just be… Inheriting Miss Fortune.
REVIEW:
Oh my, this was another wonderfully written piece of work from The Billionaire Brotherhood series!
Tully and Dev shared one hot encounter, two years ago.
Now they meet again under completely different circumstances.
Tully brings Dev his daughter. Let me explain.
A few years ago Devon McKay, offered his sperm to Katie, an asexual woman who wanted a child.
Around the same time he met Tully Bowman, who he had a very pleasant encounter with, just ones.
Until this day they never met again, they also never forgot about it.
Tully is close with Katie, as a friend and as her attorney, sadly Katie died in a car accident. Leaving her daughter Lellie behind.
Katie’s crazy religious parents want Lellie. But…
In her will, Katie left full custody of Lellie’s biological father, Devon.
Tully will bring her to Dev.
Little fact, Katie was very rich, so with her child also came a lot of money.
Another little fact, Dev is a secret billionaire!
Tully’s boss (the grandparent’s attorney) made clear he knew which side he had to be on.
Dev is instantly protective over Lellie, not sure if he’ll be the perfect parent, and certainly not sure to trust Tully.
Oh boy, a pool of vicious behavior came to the surface. Shame! Thank goodness for the outcome.
Another thank goodness because the majority of people were supportive and loving! Hooray!
All the emotions are honest and real and presented at the right time. The arguments, fights, and easier conversations made so much sense. The attraction between both men was undeniable.
Gosh, I just love this author’s style of writing, it constantly surpassed my expectations. The story is logically and convincingly put together. With the best cast of characters, and a great plot!
For me, it’s so satisfying to trust an author to be good. It makes reading so comfortable and enjoyable.
Overall, it was a marvelous read. Looking forward to Zane’s story!
