BLURB:
A hot AF wolf who could make me howl all night long. A persistent gold coin with dubious intentions. And a magical whammy no one saw coming. Hello, gentle listener (or online stalker). My name is Teremie—yes, it’s a T, not a J, thanks for asking—Summers. Maybe you’ve seen me on Only Fae. I play the sexpot elf of your dreams.
Through a bizarre turn of events, I end up cast as an elf in an upcoming epic fantasy film—even though my acting skills are mainly of the “fae for pay” online variety.
My co-star is the once-cute-teen-star, turned smokin’ hot, all grown up, wolf-shifter Kade Savage. He’s gentle, honorable, and he doesn’t care about my past mistakes.
All great, right? Well . . .there are a couple of teensy tiny roadblocks to my happily-ever-after. See, wolves don’t date non-wolves. It’s a thing. And, oh, yeah, he’s straight. Which is fine. I’m perfectly okay with it. My track record is so poor that I might as well be running backward. So, it’s a little crush. What’s the harm? But before long I catch him giving me big-bad-wolf eyes when he thinks I’m not looking. His low, growly voice makes my heart beat a little faster and sends tingles down my spine and on a one-way trip to my nether regions.
Just when the UST between us is about to erupt, we end up in a fantasy scene so real it would make Peter Jackson jealous. What in the Lord of the Rings alternate dimension is this?! We have to rely on each other—and a contrary magical coin—to show us that “home” isn’t a place so much as where the heart is.
REVIEW:
In this story of this series connected by a magical coin, Teremie, an actor who has an Only Fae channel to make money, get cast in a movie along with his bestie Rory. He’s not that enthused. He has a disability that makes things hard for him to read scripts etc. But he does it for Rory. The movie is a big fantasy picture and it’s starring one his childhood crushes, Kade Savage. And he can get out of Hollywood and away from this horrible ex Matthew who broke up with him in a viral video that made Teremie out to be a cheater (which he was not).
Teremie finds a strange coin in this pocket with two sides – a raven and a dragon. Weird. Lately he’s been plagued by ravens. Also weird, he seems to be able to ride and horse and shoot arrows with precision despite never having even used a bow before. Then he meets his crush. And Teremie gets a little bit fanboyish 😉 But Kade doesn’t make him feel bad. Their attraction and pull get stronger though.
As Kade and Teremie get closer, the other star of the movie gets even more surly. He’s given Teremie a hard time since the beginning He calls him Teremie the cheater and basically does what he can to make Teremie’s life miserable. Thankfully Teremie has Rory and Poppy and Kae to stand up for him. And stand up they do when even they have no idea how important that is going to be when push comes to shove.
No more spoilers for me – you’ll have to listen to see what happens 😉
This audio book was so much fun! I loved the whole Lord of the Rings/Game of Thrones vibe to this movie. Poor Teremie! What a horrific ex he had. I wanted him to suffer in the worst way 🙂 Gage was so sweet! I loved he way he was not only figuring out his deal with Teremie but also his concern and care for his partner. I just knew that the final confrontation/climax of this store would be epic and it totally was! The coin was definitely a harbinger of what was coming for Teremie and his friends. I loved the horses and the other animals in this story too 😉 Especially Bruce! Teremie’s best frient Rory is the best. I’m wondering if there might be another book giving him his HEA at some point 😉 (Hint, hint) I love it when he good guys win and here that happens in a most unexpected way. The epilogue was perfection 😀
Michael Ferraiuolo did such a great job narrating this book! It hits all his special talents – accents, gruff and grumpy and growly characters, exuberance, desperation, desolation, fear, courage – totally runs the emotional gamut from beginning to end. The last bit of the book is a true crazy rollercoaster to the finish. I wonder how long it took him to get all those voices/accents right with all the dialogue of the various characters. This is really his special sauce and it was all phenomenal. So good. Highly recommended!
