BLURB:
What happens when a little lost cowboy brings a professional bull rider and a software designer together? First comes utter contempt. Second comes judgment. Will understanding and attraction soon follow?
Matthew Collins has spent far too many years away from his family, competing on the professional bull riding circuit. When his marriage hits the skids, his wife leaves him and takes their three-year-old son with her. Matt finally gets his son back some three years later, only to realize he has no idea how to care for a six-year-old boy.
One day, Matt loses track of the boy while ordering supplies at the farmer’s co-op, and a handsome man with gorgeous eyes and a protective stance helps the boy search for his father. Matt meets the man of his dreams… though he doesn’t know it.
Freshly graduated from college, Timothy Moran returns to a rural area of southern Virginia to spend the summer before embarking on a job search. Tim wants to repay his aunt and uncle for their kindness after a tragic loss, but some of the chores at Katydid Farm are more than Tim ever imagined himself doing in a lifetime. During a perusal of the local farmer’s co-op, Tim encounters a little boy with a big cowboy hat who’s lost. When he assists the young boy in finding his father, Tim meets… The Bull Rider.
REVIEW:
WOW! I’m used to Sam writing men who live to protect those that belong to them. But she definitely knows her cowboys and how protective they can be too and I can’t wait for more!!!
Timothy Moran owes everything to his Aunt Katie and his Uncle Josh. They took him in when his father killed his mother and his grandmother would have nothing to do with a gay grandson. So, upon graduating from Penn state, he made his way back home to the Katydid Farm and is now determined to help make life easier for his loving relatives that were like parents to him. Shortly after he arrived back he finds a sweet young tike of a cowboy in a huge cowboy hat who is lost from his frantic dad at the local feed store. The boy’s father, Matthew Collins, is more equipped for raising bulls (and riding them professionally for years) than suddenly being a single parent to his very bright 6 year old son Ryan. But what Matt and Tim didn’t realize was that their lives were suddenly changed forever with little Ryan smack dab in the middle!
Tim had such a horrible younger life with that dreadful man as his father and his poor mother trying best she could to protect them both. But fate took that horrible blow and brought him to his loving aunt and uncle that needed him every much as he needed them. I loved how much they loved and accepted Tim just the way he was. And that strong young man stood up tall against the much larger Matt when he was failing badly. Matt had no idea how to raise Ryan by himself but he knew that boy was the most important part of his life. I loved that Tim couldn’t take another minute and just took the bull by the horns and called Matt out on his crap. He wasn’t a bull rider on the circuit anymore. He had a boy to raise and a ranch to be responsible for. And he wasn’t going to coddle him at all! I think that made Matt fall for Tim even more. And when he fell there was no changing his mind how their life and future were going to be.
I loved that Matt, when he finally took the leap and came out, was met with love and acceptance by his parents and members of both farms. And the Colonel, his ex wife’s Dad, and his family was the biggest surprise of all. But Tim was there to stand by his side no matter what the outcome was. Because Matt, Tim and Ryan had become a family and they would make it work together.
I truly loved and enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next book in this amazing series.
