Isaac is the first installment of the Light & Shadow Duet. It can not be read as standalone. This is a dark MM mafia romance that explores various sensitive subjects like violence, abuse, PTSD, etc.
There seems to be a flurry of mafia stories lately, and I’m always on the lookout for a good one. Here, we have a duet about Hawk, or Agent Dallas, as he is going undercover to supposedly take down Isaac, aka Blade, and his criminal organization.
As Hawk gets in deeper, the closer he become with Isaac, and the connection they share becomes something all of its own. There are so many levels and details of Isaac’s life that make up who he is, but to say the lines become blurrier by the day for Hawk would be putting it mildly.
There are a number of twists and turns with the various players, who is involved in what and to what degree and reasoning keeping us on our toes as the story unfolds.
I found myself spending much of the story thinking of ways this could play out for Hawk and Isaac’s that would end in a good way, but every time an idea forms, something slams a door on it.
Suffice to say I am completely invested in this story and am eagerly jumping into the next one to see it all play out.
