Description
Dread: Nicholas “Dread” Derickson is all about his MC, Scorned Devils — until he spies a young man who sets his rebel blood on fire. Sexy bastard might be his undoing if Dread can’t get the president to turn a blind eye to his entanglement, which is cutting into club business just as a splinter group from another club moves into the area. One rider of the wayward gang rubs Dread the wrong way — particularly when he discovers the biker had a prior relationship with the man Dread wants to make his.
Marvin: Marvin Branch hadn’t planned on attending an outlaw biker club party with a woman he’d met at his new job, but now he can’t stop eyeing the handsome older guy who’s definitely a member. Marv’s last liaison ended because the biker he hooked up with refused to be open about their relationship. Vowing not to go down that road again, Marv can’t help being enthralled by Nicholas. Soon Marvin struggles with his new lover’s actions, and his fear of what will happen when he walks away gets the better of him. The man is not only possessive, he’s hell-bent on keeping Marv until he’s had his fill.
We got tired of the shit.” Gordo leaned forward with his head in his hands. “Bayside Specters, well, it’s not what we signed up for.”
“The other two?”
Burner piped up. “Sent to collect cuts.”
“If you want freedom, why not return your patches or your vests to the club? You already painted over the insignias on your bikes.”
“Did that because we wanted to keep a low profile. It doesn’t matter. Even without our president’s blessing, the two on our tails are the type who will exact more than cuts and colors. You want to talk about weapons? Those bitches are armed and looking for skin.”
“Motherfuckers! You bring this shit to our doorstep?”
“Wasn’t our intention.” Gordo huffed air. “We steered clear of them. In fact, we’re heading to Lancaster County tomorrow.”
“Tell me about the other two. Where are they?” Finally, Bat took control of the conversation.
“I don’t know. If I had to guess, they returned to Philly.” Gordo faced Bat. “Our brother found a place in Gap. We’ll be gone by tomorrow.”
“That would be best. I don’t think either of us wants a conflict.” Battle angled forward. “It won’t go well for Bayside Specters.”
Bat talking gave Dread time to think. Marvin had gotten a little too deep under his skin. Jesus, he’d known the guy barely two weeks and wanted, wanted hell, he had him at his house for fuck’s sake. And though he said Welder and him had been over for months, Dread understood how that shit worked. His rendezvous at Griffin was to meet a man he ended things with. What had Welder done to make Marv wary of bikers? If their paths crossed, would Marv want to pick up where they left off?
Sexually, he seemed to be attracted to Dread. We wanted different things. Marv wasn’t the type he usually hooked up with as Dread had nothing to offer but his dick. Fuck me! This is not a relationship. He vowed it would end when the situation no longer suited him.
The door squeaked open and Dread collected himself. Looking up, he said, “Number three.”
“Scorned Devils MC president and the sergeant at arms. To what do we owe this honor?”
The newcomer was younger than Dread by about fifteen years. Not quite as tall and a little heavier, his medium length hair was light brown with a darker beard that was close-cut. The sleeves of his black thermal shirt were pushed up, revealing fit arms with tattoos. Black or dark gray eyes did not waver as he took in the room.
“Everything’s cool, Welder.”
Of all the Bayside Specters out there, this one had to enter his fucking city? “Wallace Nixon.” Dread fisted his hands over and over.
“That’d be me.” Eyes narrowed toward Dread. “And I heard about the Devil with pretty hair manhandling an old friend.”
“You son of a bitch.”
